Didn't bother watching the game....lucky to win another game with this hack of a coach.....my god the management stuffed up with this loser.

Out of interest how did knight go?

Played with enthusiasm in his short stint, but just like he did in NYC he gave away silly penalties.

Still, will be better for the run and has a brighter future than some of the plodders in that pack.

Really think you guys should have kept Toovey. Cartwright isn't the answer either.

Mate Toovey could have won the comp last year andnthey would have found a way to punt him.

They likely would have planted a kg of coke on him if all else failed.

Political agendas f*cked Tooves and have now f*cked the instigators of it.

As a supporter I am shattered at what is going on , but do have some satisfaction that the germs who white anted Tooves (and others who were at the club) are getting their just desserts.

This, they are off their rocker. Just like the press release that they signed the best forward in the world in Taupau (their words not mine)

and lol@Gould saying earlier in the year Barrett is the calmest coach he has ever met and is never flustered, he was kicking walls last week. One of ya best Gus.

Barrett should do the right thing a just resign already

I dont think he would have the ability to resign...hopefully someone punts him soon...better to admit its been an epic failure than see this genius destroy the club over the next three years.

God thats scary if he stays...the eagles first wooden spoon

I have held off bagging Barrett given the horrific injury toll.

But enough is enough. There is no effort with the blokes that go out there. And that has to come down to coaching.

With all the political shit that went down last year, the line trotted out to punt Tooves was RESULTS.

Well here we are 12 months later in an identical (if not worse) position.

Get Cleary.

Some of the selections are mind boggling. How does Leary continue to get a run? Fanua-Blake is by far a better option!!

You have had a chance Trent. You have failed. Off you go.

At least Toovey was passionate and evoked the hard-nose culture of Manly.

Barrett's just out of his depth.

I love seeing Manly struggle and Barrett was always going to be a bust. One simple change would make them way more dangerous though. STEWART OUT, TURBO IN at Fullback. Snake is a dead set imposter (these days) who is happy collecting his payments for absolutely no return.

The pack hasn't been that bad and has played with some aggression at times. Seems to me a talking FB who has plenty of run in him would iron plenty of issues out...Turbo is the answer (if his ankle isn't f**ked...)

Agree yhat Stewart needs to go play a couple of years in England.

Such a lack of enthusiasm and heart from one of the most senior players is not good enough and rubs off on the younger blokes.

But he is not the only issue, sadly.

You raise a good point.

The fight is gone. Just devoid of that "f*ck you all" attitude that was built up over a decade.

Quite astounding how quickly it has evaporated.

The players are trying, but that Manly spirit is not there.

I wonder why.......

I must say that as a player, I never understood all the raps Barrett received back in the day. I can honestly say that I don't recall him ever tearing an opposition side apart like some of his contemporaries did before or since. Hell, I reckon Chris Sandow probably won more games off his own bat for Parra last year alone without even seeing out the season than Barrett did in his whole career. It probably happened once or twice , I didn't see every game Barrett played but I dunno, his performances in big games always left me cold, unconvinced, disappointed....

And now, for all the raps we heard him getting as he was doing his coaching apprenticeship, the reality seems a long way removed from being the best young coach we were lead to believe he was going to be. Early days, plus injuries haven't helped. But I certainly wouldn't be expecting miracles if I was a Manly fan in the short to medium term.

Toovey and Hasler were both Manly players so it all just followed on - Barrett is an outsider and can't capture the siege mentality there. Also they didn't have the worst set of forwards in the NRL.

Barrett was always going to be a dud coach.

I said the exact same with Mary.

You can just sense it immediately with some coaches that they're just not cut out for the gig. In contrast, you could just tell that Trent Robinson and Paull Green were going to be great head coaches from day one.

The perfect temperaments to complement a keen intellect. But more importantly they strike me as blokes that the players would respect.

Barrett, like Mary, I suspect couldn't command respect from a loyal dog.

Barrett's just out of his depth.

The guy just has a very quite, sheepish, unconfident demeanor about him, not someone who inspires the troops or demands respect.
