2017 - Biggest Int RL Ever

Not sure how we can measure this - but a simple count of internationals being played seems to highlight the growth that is occuring

I tallied over 80 international games to be played in 2017 including RLWC and womens internationals

Plus we have a increase in the number of junior internationals

But by almost any count 2017 is the biggest international RL year ever

Yes, the game is certainly starting to come along nicely. The RLIF should have more cash than ever before at their disposal after this world cup. Then from the next world cup onwards there will be an RLIF event every two years which will increase revenue for the game again.

Yes. Despite the obstacles Rugby league continues to grow! Shows what a great code it is! Imagine if the game didnt have to put up with the crap from many parts of the world and was able to establish itself and grow uninhibited? It would be right up there as a globally accepted sport.

Historically how many games would be played in a WC year? I have never looked a the numbers so that figure is kind of hard to gauge.

No, not that I'm aware. The only news that I've heard is that it will start 2023 not 2019
