Saints scraped by with the win. Dont matter if you win ugly, 2 points is 2 points. Thats why they are one of the top teams this year. WT did alright to match their pack, and it was good to see teddy amd woods finally put in a decemt performance. Marsters looked solid in his first game, suli is looking dangerous every time he touches the ball. A loss, but some positives to take away!

The tigers were gutsy but ultimately were poor. The big difference was one team had a class play maker and the other didn't. I know the dragons were off but to me they never looked like losing and probably clocked off early knowing the tigers didn't have 2 tries in them when it was 16-6 for most of the second half. If they were playing a better team they would have responded.

I know he cops shit but I don't think McCrone is as bad as made out. He isn't a star but really he is a fill in half after Hutchinson did his ACL. As far as back up halves go he's as good as you're gunna get. He takes the ball to the line which always worries the defence. Compare that to Littlejihn who passed and kicked 5m before the line every time which worried no one.

For the tigers Lolohea did as well as he could considering he touched down in the country 5 days ago. Marsters looked at home in first grade, including nice vision for our second try, so hopefully that spells the end of Lovett and Edwards. If Brooks comes back and we keep that side healthy for the rest of the year we'll win our fair share of games.

Lolohea looked ok considering.
It did seem like everytime lovett got the ball he got creamed. Totally baffling how he continues to get a start. Nice to see some youngsters getting blooded for next season though

Tigers were completely rudderless. They looked like a team with a reserve grade halfback and a 5/8 who has played on the wing in reserve grade for a year. It is what it is.

Actually a lot of positives to take out of that match for the Tigers. Best they have hung in for a long time. It does actually look like Cleary is building some character. There are blokes in this team (Lovett, Kev, JLJ, Grant) who are and will always be reserve graders, but right now we have a team full of guys who will put in and thats a great start.

Add Brooks for the rest of '17 and we jag some wins. Add Packer, Matulino, Reynolds and couple of others for next year and things are looking a lot brighter.

Imagine if we were where we are, Moses, Woods & Teddy had signed elsewhere and Taylor was still coach.

Onwards and upwards

Lolohea made some bad reads in defence but I honestly believe today that even 10kg overweight and with no first grade experience under his belt and no combinations with the team, he still made an equal (or better) contribution to the team that Moses usually did.

Very encouraged with the future of the club based on the fact that Lovett has not been made an offer for next year.

Must admit, I was looking at the still off contract lists yesterday and aside from McIlwrick the Tigers is a bit of a who's who of "get the f**k away from my team".

No wonder you guys are hunting down so many players to avoid having to re-sign that lot.
