We know souths 30k members isn't the same as everyone else due to high number of non-ticketed members and their alleged diaspora of fans across the country and the world.

Again, the prelim got 50k in 2014, the SFS holds 45k.

If people get locked out I suggest they become ticketed members in future.

The prelim got almost 52k actually.

The amount of tickets for sale at Allianz is only in the region of 32-34k. That’s the real problem.

ANZ member section is much better organised in that seats can be sold to the general public if members don’t want to go.

If the NRL aren't going to move the storm to Etihad (which they have the right to do), I can't see any justification to moving our game given the 2014 crowd. Arguably more people are getting locked out of the storm game especially given playing right next door to the AFL might put some people off.

Most of us here got hooked to the game via semis. Moves like this will make it so 0 casual fans can turn up. Very poor for the game that every move seems to be attracting new fans

Unfortunately if this weeks AFL Saturday game goes to the way it is expected, the storm game will be up against a massive crowd and build up. It would be a shame as the Storm deserve to be given some clear air and generate some buzz on their own, and the NRL have failed in this area when they had the ability to schedule for maximum impact.

Fox sports and NRL website reporting Storm has the Friday prelim and Roosters Saturday, with NRLW games on before each game.

Melbourne doesn't have an entire state, that logic is broken. All sports are competing with each other for fans. If not why don't we plonk an NRL team down in China, USA and Brazil? They have no competition either so surely we'd get giant crowds!

The AFL in Sydney and Melbourne are 2 entirely different beasts. In Sydney the AFL is an also ran whereas in Melbourne it's basically a culture.

There were 40K people at the SCG vs 90K at the MCG. There were 100K people watching the game on FTA in Sydney vs 550K in Melbourne.

Also maybe I'm not remembering correctly but the storm game was directly up against the AFL. The swans game was finished by the time the sharks roosters kicked off so it wasn't even direct competition.

It has been confirmed.

The roosters website says ours is at SFS on the Saturday
