Good grief this is a tough one to pick.

I would take the home team but there isn't one.

Who knows.

If we’re fair dinkum we win this comfortably. Wouldn’t shock me if we got beat though.

Canterbury coach Dean Pay has swung the axe and dropped three players as he desperately tries to turn the club’s on-field form around.

Foxsports.com.au understands halfback Lachlan Lewis, centre Kerrod Holland, and backrower Rhyse Martin have all been dumped for Saturday’s Round 9 clash with Newcastle.

Holland has travelled with the team to Brisbane but will take no part in Magic Round.

In a huge blow to the team, Corey Harawira-Naera was set to replace Holland at centre but he has withdrawn from the game due to a family illness.

It means Kieran Foran will make his return from injury to partner Jack Cogger in the halves, Marcelo Montoya will be added to the backline, and Chris Smith also gets promoted. Ofahiki Ogden is also expected to be called on, meaning the Bulldogs will use all four of their reserve players.

Knights seem to have hit a bit of a groove, think they win this and do it well. Newcastle by 22.

Good guy Knights will keep the Doggies below the home town team on the ladder.

Say it aint so...That can't be true surely? Why continue to keep Martin on the outs and Lewis of all people? As if we need ANOTHER change in the halves... Pay is a moron.

Time to change my tips. Ugh..

At this stage the official changes have Lewis and CHN out, with Martin and Holland remaining in the squad in position.

Foran replaces Lewis, Elliott starts back row and Smith joins the bench.

Having watched closely the last few weeks, I haven't seen enough from Lewis. Cogger's outperformed him big time and Lewis' kicking game in particular has been poor. I'm happy to see Foran-Cogger get a go.

As for Martin, he was fairly quiet last week IMO. We can't just keep him there because he can kick goals.
