Lions crowd: 35,608
Broncos officially playing second fiddle to the AFL

Broncos average home crowd, 2019 - 29367. https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/brisbane.html
Lions average home crowd 2019 - 23654.https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/brisbanel.html

I don't think so, considering the Lions are leading the comp and the Bronco's are having an average season.

Also, check out the last however many years. Broncos clearly way ahead, considering the fudging that goes on with ALF crowd figures. There's no way the Lions averaged that many during their past really shite seasons of late. It was clear to see by all on tv.

This is almost as geniused as claiming an Origin Crowd means that Perth is an RL city.

Brisbane people are real bandwagoners. The Reds crowds were pumping with those sorts of people from 2011-2014.

The Brisbane situation says a lot though. Compare it to the crowds the storm get. The fact is the AFL engage with their fans a lot better and do a lot more to get crowds. Obviously put a better show on. The NRL clubs are totally half arsed.

The ALF also have money to burn and throw freebies out like confetti.
They also massively fudge crowd figures, as we all know.

Half arsed in what way?
EPL games run pretty much at capacity and there’s a game of football and that’s it. If the event is good enough the other shit doesn’t matter.

Yeah but with league we don’t have that “problem” so they need to put on a better show or accept that AFL ae the best which I have all but conceded anyway. Their fans like the game more than league fans like league which pretty much means it is a better game.

Some codes have a presence / (allowed to be played) in all types of schooling (public and private ) Others namely rugby league do not. This affects the overall demographic range that follows rugby league. Other codes gain both elite private and public school presence. Recently in Brisbane a shining example of what can and should happen occured last year: the Brisbane Independent Private schools were lobbied by complaining parents that rugby league was not offered in the curriculum like other sports such as Union & AFL. Rugby league is being played in term 3 of these schools this year . The most progressive news I've seen for a long time. Otherwise it's an unfair playing field for rugby league in most places as far universal acceptance is concerned. This often flows on to later year support of a particular code . Rugby-league being at a distinct disadvantage as a result.

The NFL gets the biggest club crowds in England. I guess English people have voted, their favourite game is American football, and that makes it a better sport than soccer. That's t-boon's logic anyway.

It just so happens that 4 of the top 5 sports programs this year will be RL events. So that makes RL an objectively better sport that auskick.

It does baffle me why RL isn’t more popular. Why AFL in Brisbane and Sydney can draw double what nrl in Melbourne can is one of life’s mysteries.
