Brookvale Oval in danger of being overrun by Cronulla fans for NRL finals blockbuster

Yes, the asbestos is gone.

So why the bloody hell aren’t Manly fans on Brookvale Oval hill?

Despite waiting 11 years for a home final, the Manly Sea Eagles are suddenly in danger of having their famed suburban venue overrun by Cronulla fans.

According to NRL data, 45 per cent of all tickets currently sold for the club’s elimination clash at ‘Fortress Brookie’ belong to Sharkies supporters, many of whom will arrive en masse via a convoy of buses.

That is amazing, the atmosphere will be awesome. Are you heading there? Regardless, enjoy it!

Historically week 1 finals at AAMI are around the 20K mark.
Crowd wise (for the series) it’s better for Melbourne to win tonight.

Hosting a semi next week after a loss and coming up against either Richmond Geelong or Collingwood Brisbane/GWS wouldn’t work. Both of those prelims will have 95-100k. Better to get the home prelim on a Friday night that is a public holiday.

Which is about what I expect this time. Would like to see more but I’m being realistic.
In the first week of the finals over the past three years AAMI has had

2016 v NQ 21233
2017 v Parra 22626
2018 v Sydney Roosters 17,306

In the third week of the finals AAMI has had

2016 v Canberra 28161
2017 v Brisbane 28821
2018 v Cronulla 26621

Anything over 23000 today will be bloody good
