Yeah just in case they play them selves
Yeah good work dickhead.

The point of an alternative strip is so it doesn't look the same as the main one. The colour used on the shoulders is a main part of that given the main camera angles used in sports broadcasting.

I'll give a more constructive rebuttal.

The shoulders would be more dominant relative to the rest of the visible jersey when the play is in line with the camera (roughly the 20 m corridor between the 40 m lines). Once play moves away from this area, there is usually enough angle to show more of the player's front or back which allows the rest of the uniform to provide contrast.

This of course mainly applies to the default broadcast angle. Close-ups, particularly in the red zone, would be more susceptible to the issue that you mentioned - but mainly for video refereeing decisions.

Weighing that up though, I don't mind the sleeves being the same colour as whatever is dominant on the primary jersey. With most teams defaulting to a white secondary, and there being a ton of sponsors logos to contend with, the sleeves are a practical spot to show more of the team's colours while still providing contrast on most of the jersey. That's an opinion though and I understand why you would see it your way.

And I'll harp on it again by saying that shorts and socks are nearly as important as the jersey in terms of contrast since they take up even more visual real estate from a side-on view than the sleeve.

Members were asked to give feedback on this away jersey.

I love it when members are asked about the jerseys....

When it is just decided by the executives, there is more often than not, a huge divide between what the fans want and what the executives think will be cool.

But on the other end, when they do a poll for anyone to vote in, it just becomes this insane gimmick.

Members deserve a special treatment above the regular fan. And i think members give a better idea of the "general will" for the direction of the clubs branding

Titans fans initially picked their best design. Then they never bothered asking them ever again.

I wonder if that's to be used more as iconography for media purposes, and whether a different logo will be put on the jerseys, possibly the NRL one. Not sure if the logos provide enough information to be used for every application without those wordmarks (which are very wide and not suited to everything).

Not bad. I like it how the only difference between the first two is the naming rights logo. However I don't like how "NRL" is so small and doesn't appear inside the emblem.
The NRL's always had an NRL Premiership and a Telstra Premiership logo, we just don't see the former.

We likely won't see the unbranded one unless Telstra withdraw/don't renew as naming rights sponsor
