2019 NRL Draw

so the Swans/AFL get final say in whether those 5 games go ahead? is that because the Swans already had a contract with the stadium? If not it seems fair that if the NRL draw is released first the AFL would have to work around that?

What is the Roosters' plan for any games that clash? take them on the road? more games at CC? or (god forbid) ANZ

edit: Its also a shame theres no club games in Perth to coincide with Origin, real missed opportunity for growth to have a presence there twice in the one year
Its great Roosters will likely take a game to Adelaide again and ill probably make the drive there this year to see Adelaide for the first time but its weird there's a game there but not Perth (Perth would be an easier market)

Swans are the primary tenants so get priority.

On the Roosters site it is saying all the home games that have been TBA next to them are locked in for the SCG on those dates, the reason they have done that is waiting for the AFL draw to come out so they can work out which game they can take to Adelaide as Adelaide Oval has two tenants playing out of it so it really has nothing to do with the Swans scheduling.

ah ok
I assumed it would be roosters vs storm again, hope it is because I was planning to go..
so the TBA issue isn't with the SCG its with Adelaide Oval, makes sense

The Game against the Storm makes the most sense, the only other one I could see maybe is the game against the Dogs, I doubt whether they would take the Knights, Titans or Warriors game over there and the Panthers game is probably to late in the season, of course it will all depend on when Adelaide or Port Adelaide are scheduled to play.

Not according to nrl.com...
Roosters home matches from round 14 have TBA as the venue because the Swans have sole usage of the SCG for the entire weekend they are scheduled to play there.

Daft one from left field...

Roosters play should play at Henson Park... like they used to..

Of course it will never happen but anyone who's been there for a Jets game recently (I went twice last year) it is such a great venue and brings back "old-school" values and why so many people love footy..

Even if just for one game... it would be epic I'm sure.

Interesting, just found it on the NRL site

The Roosters will play their home games from the SCG, with matches from round 11 listed with venue "TBA" while the NRL awaits the release of the AFL draw and the Sydney Swans' requirements but it is not expected to result in any changes to the NRL schedule.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, there are going to have to be some weekends when both teams play at the SCG, the Swans games at the SCG for the last couple of years have been top heavy with Saturday night games and also quite a few Friday night and a couple of Thursday nights, they don't play many Sunday games there and I noticed 4 of the Roosters games are down for Sundays, time will tell when the AFL draw is out.

I would love to see an NRL game at Henson Park as I can walk to there from work or home, great ground as it is for viewing and atmosphere it will never happen as the corporate facilities are non existent and catering and toilet facilities are terrible.

Two more bits I found on the NRL site

The Roosters are also set to take a round 15 home game against Melbourne to Adelaide Oval once again, with that match also listed as "TBA" until the AFL draw finalises requirements for its two Adelaide-based clubs.

Bulldogs (Round 14, set to be at SCG): A great rivalry, but that has gone cold in recent seasons with the Roosters winning 10 of the last 13 games between the sides. Brett Morris' summermove from Belmore to Bondi will provide another storyline.

Indeed Horrie. You can get tents up around the back to cater (like they do now) but if you need a slash...

Anyway just a nostalgic thought of mine.

Yep, I like it when they put the food and beer tents up the back on the hill. With the Roosters having North's as their feeder club I would love to see a game played at North Sydney Oval too for old times sake, used to love going to that ground also.

I wonder why they could gurantee the venue pre round 11 but not thereafter?

Yep not sure, the AFL starts on the 21st March and the Roosters have 3 games assured at the SCG before round 11 after the AFL starts, one is for Thursday 4th April against the Broncos so could clash but unlikely. Anzac Day against Saints wont clash but Sat 4th May against the Tigers could.

Considering the Adelaide teams don't ever play the same weekend at AO, there's only one potential slot to conflict with so that should be able to be worked out comfortably.
