Hopefully Manly are completely demoralised after their capitulation against the Tigers and nothing left to play for. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have come within a sniff of victory a few times now- and they have something to play for, still: to offload the wooden spoon in an otherwise forgettable season. Just one real push, one more game where mentally they turn up ready to go all out- and that might be enough for victory.

Meanwhile, up north there's another team whose fans (for years) arrogantly laughed at the various Gold Coast incarnations and the Cowboys pre-JT because "we're the Broncos and we're the pride of Qld- we don't embarrass our fans/ miss the finals/ lose Grand Finals/ collect wooden spoons" etc. Yet the wheel truly does turn, and now the "Pride of Qld" have suffered all of those fates...except for that last one. Somehow they remain in 15th and with games to come against the high-flying Eels and both of their Qld cousins who'd surely love nothing more than to deal one last blow to their hopes of avoiding the most unwanted of prizes.

So all things considered?

C'mon Bulldogs- for the good of rugba league!

You can do this, it's something you've been spending the last few weeks preparing for. The last 10 minutes against the Tigers was the perfect dress rehearsal for this game.

Just let the dogs win. If everyone does their part a Broncos spoon could be a reality in our lifetime.
