If we get back underway I want AJ on the left wing. I don’t want him on the interchange.

I don’t want AJ feeling like he needs to go elsewhere to get a start. He has proven himself as a premiership winning winger. I would like us to try very hard to re-sign him. He is a solid back up fullback too like Merritt was.

Burns has not really proven anything yet.

I would move Campbell to left centre and drop Burns.

From the Daily Telegraph, looks like Latrell is set for a stint in the centres to get some match fitness before going back to fullback. I like that idea, just give him a few games to get settled back in and get fit and then hopefully we can see him return to fullback and go well,

Wayne Bennett is stubborn and hates being proven wrong. But the supercoach is set to swallow his pride and succumb to public pressure come May 28. PLUS the Roosters-Rabbitohs rivalry going soft.

SORRY, WAYNE
Wayne Bennett is stubborn and hates being proven wrong.
Yet we’re told the old supercoach is about to abandon the failed experiment of playing Latrell Mitchell at fullback at the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Sources at Redfern are telling us Latrell will return to the centres when the Rabbitohs resume their premiership campaign, hopefully on May 28 against his old club the Sydney Roosters.
Latrell struggled in the first two rounds with lack of fitness to cover the extra ground that is required of fullbacks in attack and defence.
Bennett, we are told, has not given up on Latrell wearing the No.1 jersey later in the year but wants him to get more match fitness.
This story will be denied. Just like Bennett did when we broke the news in this column of Souths signing James Roberts and Latrell last year.
Rest assured it will happen. It will be Latrell in the centres and Alex Johnston at fullback.

Trivia Tuesday - Round Two: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/04/28/trivia-tuesday-round-two/

Keep forgetting to ask but how did everyone go in this weeks trivia? I got 14/18 which I guess isn't bad, one better than last week!

On This Day - Souths play in front of Royalty: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/05/02/on-this-day-souths-play-in-front-of-royalty/
I haven’t played the trivia bro, once I realised I’d missed the start I didn’t bother.

14/18 is very impressive.

Back on deck - Players set to train when details land next week: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/05/01...-return-but-awaiting-details-before-training/

Hooper - Inside the ‘heated’ NRL meeting where players put V’landys to the test: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...t/news-story/e3f2e0adc0ec964638c2e39c2908cc03

So the info day on Monday is goin ahead as planned with training to follow later in the week!
Hopefully the players abide by all the rules as well, we don’t need anymore foolish stupidity.

Warriors player not allowed into Aus as NRL ban tackling and wrestling at training: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...y/news-story/bf5ec8db45ab24cd04ba37cc7ee88e3a

Leading doctor's NRL player safety warning: https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/leadin...-warning/52e86309-02a9-4a74-a087-a3f8c2a39226

So no tackling or wrestling for at least the first week back. That's okay I suppose, will give the boys a chance to work on their ball skills and fitness before contact, hopefully next week.
I guess it is what is, isn’t it. Not much can be done about it I guess.

If no tackling at training is for 2-3 more weeks I guess we could see some teams being rusty and flimsy in defensive once we start up again.

I don't think they can play without a decent amount of contact training. It'd be too unsafe.

Well hopefully they can start in a weeks time with contact otherwise we may be pushed back.

I am now confident though it shouldn’t be an issue and we will get underway 3 weeks this Thursday week.

Exciting day today as the boys are officially back on deck at the club!! I know that training doesn't start today but for those that don't know, today is the players education day where they will learn all about their restrictions and the biosecurity measures they must follow. Players will apparently complete an online course about it.

So today is exciting but also very important. Let's hope the boys get it right and we're back on the training paddock in the coming days!!

NRL clubs return to training: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/05/04/nrl-clubs-return-to-training/

Wolverine is that you? NRL players emerge from isolation and all eyes are on Cam Smith: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...t/news-story/8f5ca7c20773c18777ae667b7ebfff63

So good to see the boys back and around the club, I hope today was a successful one that really sunk in with the players.

So official training resumes on Wednesday. Bet the boys can't wait and I can't either!!
