Wenty 22 beat Asquith 18 after they led 16-6 at 41 minutes when their prop, Charles Shepherd was sent off. Wenty had about 6 first choice selections missing but it looks like Asquith must have had a dozen or more players in the North Sydney trial today. Jerry Key, back from a month with the Titans, had the opportunity to win the game for Asquith in the final minute, but dropped the ball over the tryline.

The side Asquith put on the field today included four North Sydney Bears players who were not selected in last nights Jersey Flegg game. For those boys it was their first game against men.

The rest of the side was pretty much their Sydney Shield side bar a few. A massive effort from Asquith and they probably deserve the win today.

Do you have a team sheet for Asquith? Or both sides?

You can say what you like pal its a forum. Say what you like good or bad about any of the teams.

I was just reporting the facts.

When you compare todays team Asquith put on the field to the team they will name for round 1 in Massey then you will see what Asquith did today was a massive. Don't forget Wenty have won three straight Massey comps.

Who of these do you think will be in their Massey team round 1 Sharkie? Sounds like there's a lot to come back from Norths.

Fiji Silktails have been beaten by PNG's Kroton Hela Wigmen 18-12 in their first taste of higher class opposition. In the main game, PNG retained the Melanesian Cup when Lae Snax Tigers won their 3rd consecutive title by a 32-8 thrashing of Ravoraro Rabbitohs, a squad that included 5 Silktails players.

If that’s Asquiths supposed mainly shield team ,they’ll go close to winning it.
Nrl,super league and a stack of Nsw/Qld cup experience in that line up.
I’d say atleast 8-10 of them will be in the Massey line up come round 1 .

11 Asquith guys played in the NSW Cup trial yesterday and North Sydney have signed 19 players this year, so barring injuries, that means about 10 of those guys may be available for selection in RMC and SS each week, so another 21 players available for round 1.

From yesterday, I would say that Jerry Key, Will Solway, Eli Roberts and Mike Pearsall are the most likely, bearing in mind that Curtis Johnston only played yesterday because his SG Ball team had a bye and he will not be available until May.
