Great atmosphere last night. Shame Origin is such a cash cow and we are unlikely to see a regional centre host it again. would love to see Newcastle rewarded with a game.
The 3rd dead rubber should have a option to go smaller grounds else where ?

smallest crowd of the year for the raiders by about 4000
a combo of fans sick of the raiders average performances in 2021 & the bitter arctic conditions.

Why the NRL & foxtel insist on the Raiders playing home games at night in the dead of winter is beyond me , altho yesterday it wouldn't have made of any difference because it was just as cold at 3pm as it was at 7.30 haha.

If an all Victorian afl game at the scg .. out draws an all Sydney NRL game tomorrow .. we should burn the server that hosts this website and never speak again.

Yep, looking good as the novelty of a shiny new stadium has now passed, you’d think.

It certainly has for the Wanderers... (and I'm a Wanderers fan so not sinking the boot in). But the Eels have done very well to take advantage of the new stadium. To see this growth despite COVID is pretty remarkable. Being competitive obviously helps.

Out of all the 8 1/2 Sydney sides, arguably Parramatta are the only ones with an appropriately sized modern stadium. Which is pretty damning of the NRL and Sydney's infrastructure to be honest.

In fairness to the difference between the Eels and WSW - both sides were in opposite spots form wise prior to Bankwest opening and have seemingly switched. WSW have been hot garbage for a couple of years now and Parra are now a consistent top eight side (and top four for that matter)

Yep if you go back to when Bankwest was announced you could fairly reasonably estimate that WSW would be averaging more than the Eels. If WSW had Bankwest in the 2-3 years after inception they would have averaged high 20ks such was the support at the time, and with the presence of the RBB. The potential is still there but needs a turnaround.

Wanderer/Sydney derby still get good crowds, though?

Only decent stadium in Sydney, we shouldn’t be surprised that fans actually want to attend games there, home and away fans.
it’s a good job, I’d hate to see our nsw crowd avg without eels, panthers and Newcastle!
