This game was a real battle. A 50/50 call went the Blackhawks way late in the game. From the resulting scrum Blackhawks fullback Terry Connors had too much pace for the Cutters outside backs and scored in the corner. Lachlan Erba stepped up and nailed the conversion.

Blackhawks 48 def Cutters
Blackhawks were too big, too fast and steamrolled a disappointing Cutters side let down repeatedly by errors. Very impressed by the #12 Latu and #9 Baira-Gela for the Blackhawks. Cutters will need to make changes to beef up their engine room and spend more time at training working on the fundamentals of defence as way too much arm grabbing for this level.

Another game that was a real battle. I'm still not sure how the Devils lost this game. Plenty of positional changes to the Devils side to start the game. #18 Fa'atili for the Devils and #13 Radel for the Seagulls were the pick of bunch in my opinion. For the Broncos sake I hope they have both on their books.

A blowout score and a big upset with the Blackhawks the more credentialed team on paper. The score line is also reflective of the work Mackay has put into their women's pathways compared to a "slow" Townsville.

The battle between two elite rep halves was on display with Weaver (Seagulls) and Mam (Magpies) at their best. Magpies went to sleep at half time and Tweed made them pay. Enjoyed watching half-turned winger Keano Kini with his lightening quick feet and the powerful charges from Prinston Esera. Tweed too clinical when it mattered.

Weaver continues to live up to the hype and for the Titans sake should be locked down for many years to come. In Finefeuaki the Cowboys have found a gem with his leg drive a real threat.

After six regular rounds of competition, the title couldn't be split with Wynnum Manly duo Shaun Packer and Blake Moore sharing this year's honour.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls team mates Shaun Packer and Blake Moore were awarded this year’s Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup Player of the Year honours after votes could not separate the talented duo.

Moore, who played in the five-eighth position and Packer, who featured at hooker, have both since been training with the club’s Hastings Deering Colts team since the under 18 statewide competition wrapped up earlier this year.
