there'll be some serious whining if france don't win
this game is a perfect example of heritage packed versus pure bred and the french will be seriously discouraged if they are penalised for not having made it to Botany Bay a week or two earlier.

Very interested to see how France look in this. They *should* run a score up on Greece, and if they do that then I give them a hope of knocking off the shambles that is Samoa and taking 2nd spot in the group

I really hope France actually look half decent, I hope they beat samoa.

tonga smashed them in a warm up game, so hopefully Tonga are the real deal and it wasn’t a sign of France being completely shit,

For the first time France field a fully professional team and they have a chance to get their first world cup win in a very long time.
Hopefully this is the confidence building game that can help them become a more polished and proud outfit.

The French forward pack is genuinely good, and they look a well coached and drilled side. However Gigot is just dreadful and undoes all the pack's hard work with some of the worst kicking I've ever seen, and the whole team seemed to lose focus and discipline after about 50 minutes. I'd love them to beat Samoa but it seems unlikely.

What a try at the end by Nick Mougios for Greece though. Try of the Cup so far?

Might be worth trying Rouge at halfback and moving Gigot in to the backline or bench utility. I always thought his best, most consistent work was at centre.

France's forwards done a great job. They carted up the ball with ease and always found space, extra metres or a quick play or a combination of all 3. In defence they were always quick off the line with numbers in the tackle. Their backs lack the class to be contenders but the foundations for a very good side are there.
Was great seeing history for Greece but their forwards got worked over way too easily. They have to tighten up the middle and not give up quick rucks.
