Rain impacted too but yes head office are not thinking sometimes during the draw making processDerby game should be on the weekend, not Thursday night. There are some people at HQ that don’t care about fan preferences or crowds
yep should be a Sudnay afternoon played at the new SFS when it opens from now on.Derby game should be on the weekend, not Thursday night. There are some people at HQ that don’t care about fan preferences or crowds
No it should be at suburban grounds... you'll get less at moore parkyep should be a Sudnay afternoon played at the new SFS when it opens from now on.
Thats what you get when you become little more than a tv product.
Some of the people running this game are getting paid but not delivering as if you want a good Tv game you need to have a decent crowd in the stands and seats for atmosphere.Derby game should be on the weekend, not Thursday night. Less than 10k people would go to a state of the art stadium on a Sunday afternoon for your clubs biggest derby game?No it should be at suburban grounds... you'll get less at moore park
Drop your intellectually dishonest BS for a second - I support more games at bigger venues but I also can see the value in traditional clashes at traditional venues. Dragons v Sharks at Kogarah or Shark Park on a Sunday 4pm would fill whichever ground it was in.Less than 10k people would go to a state of the art stadium on a Sunday afternoon for your clubs biggest derby game?
Wow, tribalism!

Making the fans travel up to the city isn't going to make people want to attend in this instance.

that thinking is why we remain stagnant. We shouldn’t have a problem getting 30k plus at Sfs once a or twice a year for a big game like sharks v dragons, instead we think 18k in a suburban ground is safer because people might not care that much they’d be willing to travel an extra 30-60 mins.Drop your intellectually dishonest BS for a second - I support more games at bigger venues but I also can see the value in traditional clashes at traditional venues. We are either very poor at marketing, very insecure about our fans commitment or we genuinely have a half arsed fan base that doesn’t really care too much about supporting their club If it means a bit of effort.
The derbies sell out 60k, so yes.given you are an AFL fan.
I would put it this way.
Would a West Coast fan attend a Fremantle game?
The derbies sell out 60k, so yes.
again when you’ve got capacity you can do reciprocal agreements so ten away teams members can get in free. This is how you push our decades old 15k crowd avg up.
not suggesting lots of neutrals would goThe Derbies do. But Say West Coast playing a Melbourne team Fremantle supporters won't go.
Same would apply here. Say they move it to the new SFS it is only viable if neutral's show and that won't happen.
There is many things RL can do to improve crowds but this isn't one
not suggesting lots of neutrals would go
Are you saying there aren’t 30k plus sharks and dragons fans?
Tribalism my arse! If you can’t hype up the local derby to get fans to travel 45mins on a Sunday once a year to a state of the art stadium then where is this so called tribalism that defines Sydney RL we keep hearing is so Important? There really is no wonder the game hasn’t increased crowds in two decades. There are But not that would travel to one of the Stadiums
Shire people are known to not want to leave the area. Dragons cover to Wollongong and that is too far away
