are you suggesting they're not?

your beloved fumbleball is certainly haha
F1 didn’t seem to have any problems and seeing as you raised it afl is only a few hundred behind their 35k 2019 avg. over here wildcats are still getting 5 figure crowds despite their poor home form. Nrl crowds are ok and on par given covid concerns and rain in Sydney.

shame the dragons weren’t at win this evening, I’m across the road and could have ticked another stadium off the list!

The afl attendance after 3 rounds was down over 4000 a game compared to the pre Covid era. If you dont want to be labelled an afl lackey don’t behave like one.

I looked after 3 rounds and compared to their overall 2019 attendance it was down by around 700. Mind you in my defence I was at the Illawarra brewery at the time sampling the local.

The club issued a statement to that effect recently. If you go to ‘play rugby league’ you can check team numbers for each club’s district. Not all are up yet particularly for full contact grades.
couldn't find the number on the 'play rugby league' but could see the number of comps each region has. looks like Penrith are way out ahead with Parra slightly ahead of Cronulla. Noted that Cronulla includes quite a few tag comps and also has some teams playing in combined competitions at older ages.
Still growing numbers is the main thing to watch

The parra figures are from last year. Cronulla’s do not include those above under 12s playing full contact who play in the southern comp under Sydney metro competitions. Those have not been updated yet. It’s a complicated system with most areas combining above under 13s. I did a count last year(and it wasn’t easy) and the sharks had more teams than parra. Penrith easily have the most.

RL crowds grow by heaps when they add ANZAC Day and Magic Round into it

Similar across all codes with events on. To do the over the year is just lies from the AFL troll

Interesting to see what the dogs/souths game draws. That fixture doesn't seem to be immune to the teams being shit unlike the ANZAC game.

Parra should be able to sell out bankwest themselves on Easter Monday despite no Tigers fan with a brain wanting to be anywhere near the ground that day.

You actually can't buy tickets on Monday.

Member only. So the club must be sure it will sell out

When you factor in things like capacity restrictions in Perth, both NRL & AFL are down around 10% on their higher averaging season. Interesting that the minor comps (besides basketball which is going through a bit of a boom) such as Union, Soccer and BBL, which were on a downward trend pre-COVID, have had crowds continue to decline at alarming rates. All well less than half their peak averages. Also, ratings for NRL & AFL have held up but those other three comps have had significant drops.

10% is possibly the number of people that have COVID/isolating/worried, and they may well all return if/when the pandemic ends. TIme will tell, but it is safe to say that NRL is doing OK.
