Looks like they’re not gambling on club games in perth next year. Roosters have a tbc venue for last game so that may be in perth if everything is open? No bulldogs Game, looks like they’ve moved it to Bundaberg.

good to see bulldogs using Sydney’s best stadium more.

List of clubs by the amount of games against top 8 and top 8 sides from 2021 ordered highest to lowest in respect to games against top 8 teams

Broncos - 6 14
Eels - 8 13
Roosters - 8 13
Dogs - 7 13
Raiders - 7 13
Warriors - 7 12
Sharks - 6 12
Storm - 6 12
Penrith - 5 12
Manly - 4 12
Knights - 6 11
Tigers - 6 11
Dragons - 5 11
Souths - 5 11
Cowboys - 5 11
Titans - 5 10

Based on that metric, Parra and roosters with the toughest draw being the only teams to play every top 4 team twice. Storm also max out on potential top 4 opponents at 6 given they can't play themselves.

Souths have a very soft draw for a top 4 team.
The Top 4 can only have a possible 6 games against the Top 4 give they were one of the top 4 sides, so it's better to go on percentages (i.e. Souths have 5 out of a possible 6 games vs the Top 4, and 11 out of a possible 14 against the Top 8).

If you go on percentages (assuming your numbers are correct)

Team - vs Top 4, vs Top 8
Eels - 8/8 (100%), 13/14 (92.9%)
Roosters - 8/8 (100%), 13/14 (92.9%)
Broncos - 6/8 (75%), 14/16 (87.5%)
Storm - 6/6 (100%), 12/14 (85.7%)
Penrith - 5/6 (83.3%), 12/14 (85.7%)
Manly - 4/6 (66.7%), 12/14 (85.7%)
Dogs - 7/8 (87.5%), 13/16 (81.3%)
Raiders - 7/8 (87.5%), 13/16 (81.3%)
Souths - 5/6 (83.3%), 11/14 (78.6%)
Knights - 6/8 (75%), 11/14 (78.6%)
Warriors - 7/8 (87.5%), 12/16 (75%)
Sharks - 6/8 (75%), 12/16 (75%)
Titans - 5/8 (62.5%), 10/14 (71.4%)
Tigers - 6/8 (75%), 11/16 (68.8%)
Dragons - 5/8 (62.5%), 11/16 (68.8%)
Cowboys - 5/8 (62.5%), 11/16 (68.8%)

Eels and Roosters the toughest draws, Cowboys and Dragons the easiest

Tough opening month for Souths which could well define our season:

Rd 1 vs Broncos in Brisbane, Rd 2 vs Storm in Melbourne, Rd 3 vs Roosters at Homebush, Rd 4 vs Penrith in Penrith.

Yikes.

Roosters v Rabbitohs in Perth, lol good joke.

It's a placeholder for the SFS game, assuming the venue is completed on time. If the ground isn't ready, it'll be at the SCG.

Curious as to why the Warriors are stuck in Redcliffe until June when the Breakers and Phoenix (NBL/A-League) are fine to travel the Tasman, and the Super Rugby competition starts in February which should be a huge litmus test for Warriors games at home.

Best guess is just that there's still too much uncertainty. Maybe they'll revisit early on.

The Warriors announced it back in September 2021 they'd be based in Redcliffe during 2022 -

three teams heavily tipped for the spoon with the easiest draws? Trying to give these teams a chance to get some Ws to prevent teams finishing the season on 6 points?

if there are NZ sides playing in 3 other competitions in Australia & nothing goes wrong before March 2022 , then there really isn't anything stopping the warriors returning home. That game on March 12th V the Dragons could very well be played at Mt Smart & absolutely should if the NZ/Oz travel bubble is open.

Are all the Warriors players vaccinated? Only reason I can think of why they aren’t playing at home.

Looks like they’re not gambling on club games in perth next year.

The Roosters had a 3 year deal to take a game to Perth, covid destroyed that 2 years in a row and with the WA borders not opening till possibly Feb next year there was no point scheduling a game for 2022 because of the uncertainty of the border closures in WA maybe going longer.

Blame the premier for the lack of games and I think you're very fortunate to be keeping the Origin game.

In the balance of fairness I'd say that NSW should've got all 3 SOO games in 2022 [Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra] after last year.

6 Storm home games in the first 9 rounds, guess it's good to get them out of the way in case we have another locked down winter.
There won't be any more lockdowns, but stupid (yet again) to have Storm away in Rnd 1, then at home Rnd 2 the same time as the opening of the AFL season across the road.
