Early days but NSW now has the generation. Unfortunately QLD is severely lacking some depth in certain positions due to a massive failure in junior development ranks.

Mary MacGregor hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

"I have been fortunate to have played with 'Mary' and roomed with him during the early 90s playing State of Origin and he will fit perfectly within the culture of our group, as well as adding immense value in what he can bring as an astute coach.

This right here is why NSW will never learn. Mary will fit in perfectly with the culture of the group, that culture being jobs for the boys. He was rooming with Freddy well here you go have an assistant coaching position.

Next thing you know they'll be bringing Paul Gallen into camp to talk about success...

I mean, you’ve got a point. But it’s not like it’s a uniquely NSW thing.

Mal Meninga and Fatty Vautin weren’t exactly phenomenal coaches when they were appointed. Greeny had just led the Cows to the bottom of the table, and the only credential that Kevvie seems to have is “good bloke to have a beer with”.

WA’s border backflip has put the rugby league showpiece State of Origin clash at Optus Stadium under threat.
Game II of the Queensland v NSW blockbuster series is due to be played at Optus on June 26, and cancellation would mean a huge financial loss to the state.
Tickets are due to go on sale to the public next month and it is understood there has already been a big take up of corporate boxes.
The NRL says a call on whether they will continue planning for the game in Perth will be made “sooner rather than later”.
They want to avoid a late scramble but face the prospect of re-arranging the Origin series schedule for a third straight year as a result of the COVID pandemic.

NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said a possible relocation was on the governing body agenda.
“That is absolutely on our agenda. We want to think about certainty for our fans and the players and everyone,” Abdo said.
“We’ll want to make the call sooner rather than later.
“That’s a discussion that I’ll need to have with our chairman and with the commission.
“Of course we’ve got contingencies in place but we won’t want to leave this too late so if we need to move Origin as we’ve had to do in prior seasons we will.”

The State Government is understood to have paid around $5 million to secure the game but TourismWA said it was up to the NRL whether it was canned.
Optus Stadium staged the 2019 State of Origin II that drew a then-record crowd of 59,721 fans who watched NSW dominate Queensland 38-6 to level the series before winning the decider in Queensland.
The game was said to have attracted more than 12,000 interstate fans, generating a $15 million windfall for the state.

If Perth is canned watch it get moved to QUEENSLAND
It'll go to wherever they can make the most money out of it. $5mill plus the Perth price of 60k tickets and all the corporate boxes sold out would be a fair whack of revenue.

If moved it should go to Newcastle, it's only fair after rattling their chain last year only to can it at the 11th hour.

Like I said NRL wont want to take a financial hit so will move it to where it will make the most money. Unless NSW govt is willing to stump up big cash I doubt it will go to Newcastle. Origin is about making as much money as possible for the NRL. That will remain their No1 priority.

Only reason it will move from Perth is if NRL cant get a guarantee about players and staff being able to fly in for it. As it stands we will will sell it out regardless of travelling fans and they've got the $5mill in the bank.
