Panthers come into this with most of their side having played one game in a month. If Souths can run up an early lead they might be able to hold onto it. Once Penrith hit the lead the premiership is all but done.

Premierships aren't easy things to win. All the pressure is on the Panthers.
We've been dealing with pressure for the past three seasons including this one. We seem to have learned to embrace it with open arms. Souths are facing a well oiled machine that is disciplined, and a hardened attitude. IMO, Souths will suffer the same fate as Canberra and the Sharks with a hammering on the cards.

Was on the fence about who to support in this one. Then @GongPanther got stuck into his parents liquor cabinet and started spamming the thread.

What’s the minimum number of teef I need to knock out to get on the Souffs train??
Spot on, one of the biggest flogs on here, and impossible to have a logical conversation with. Far too stupid for that. But in saying that, I want Penriff to win, Parra can't beat Souffs.

Miraculously? Week 1 we beat easts. Both us and them were top 4 quality at our best and only finished at our positions because of injuries. Week 2 we beat an actual top 4 team. And we got closer to beating Penrith than most a few weeks ago. We were always better than a 7th placed team.
South’s couldn’t be top 4 at their best.

Ricky Stuart already stole that line.

Can’t have every team making the top 4 at their best.

The thing is, the club has still a long way to go before you don't see us in the top four. We have much more talent coming through our lower grades, it's bordering on embarrassing...better for other clubs too, as you know they can't all stay home.

But I'd like to know the reasoning on how that chicken wing by Tatola wasn't given game time.

The May Rule

And your comment regarding Panthers dominance is unfortunately true.

NSWRL Grand Finals this weekend
NSW Cup: https://www.nswrl.com.au/draw/?competition=113&round=28&season=2022
Jersey Flegg: https://www.nswrl.com.au/draw/?competition=159&round=28&season=2022

And this is on top of winning SG Ball

oh absolutely, will be surprised if they aren’t top 4 next year. Embarrassment of riches atm however dealing with it is another matter. The Cowboys made the GFs in all 3 grades in 2015, 3 years later they started their 4 year run of no finals

This is true sadly. Success in developing players combined with success with the NRL team just means we have a lot of balls to juggle. Its hard to balance keeping an already successful NRL squad with keeping the right kids coming in from our development pathways, will be plenty of hard decisions for the next few years. If we get them right we are looking at a great few years if not we could quickly fall back into the pack. 2023 will see us fall back a little bit but I think come 2024 we will bounce back strongly, we have some great kids in 17-21 age bracket who will start to filter through into the top grade over the next 18 or so months.

Its such a smug f**ken comment hey? Parra went through a million years of dominating the lower grades, winning useless club championships and still haven't won the f**ken comp. Lower grade success is almost meaningless. Those players may never grow past that level of footy, they might cop a series of bad injuries and fade away, they might go on Mormon missions (is that still fashionable?)

Penrith have been amazingly lucky that this current crop of juniors just about all stayed fit and made the step up to become the players they are, and not a pack of Connor Broadhursts, Tom Humbles and Jakob Lokos

What a pathetic post.
You come on to our board's posting garbage and now MIA with your tail between your legs, and gutlessly spew your hate here.
You've copped multiple blowout thrashings, you resorted to being the thugs that you are and ended up getting bashed, but you want to hold onto your scrap of history?
Here is a history lesson for you:

I can tell my post didn't bother you at all

5 prelims in a row without winning a comp

Roosters were unstoppable machines 2002-04 but only managed one premiership. Though they stayed near the top they didn't win another until 2013.

Premierships aren't easy things to win. All the pressure is on the Panthers.
Is it really?

Penrith's window will be open another couple of years and they have already won a comp with this team.

Souths have 100% joined Roosters and storm as the powerhouse teams over the last 10 years with 20 of the 40 prelim finalists since 2013 being one of those 3 teams.

The difference being that roosters and storm have won their fair share of prelims giving them some GF appearances and thus premierships. Roosters have turned their 6 prelims in that time in to 3 grand final appearances and 3 premierships. Storm have turned their 7 prelims in that time in to 4 grand final appearances and 2 premierships. Souths have so far turned 6 prelim appearances in to 2 GF's and one premiership. If that becomes 7 (with 5 in a row) without the other numbers changing then they have absolutely wasted a golden era regardless of what the odds say for this weekend.

No doubt. We've bombed a couple of massive chances (2013 and 2018 come to mind).

My point was being at the top for 2-3 years is no indication you'll win another premiership in the years to follow.

Most of the Penrith juniors will end up in gangs and then jail.

Kick early and make Fatrell turn about and tire himself out, make sure we stay in his face and he's good for a couple of brain farts leading to penalties.

Simples.
