Yeah to be fair that wasn’t a cannonball. Ref then justified the penalty by calling it unnecessary, making it only the second such penalty I have seen, after Josh Hodgson was penalised for an “unnecessary tackle” by Matt Cecchin, even though held had not been called in round 23, 2015 vs Manly.
