Will be interesting to see how we go.
Hopefully big Moale can have an impact and maybe a break out year.
Same with Ilias, we really need him to hit the ground running.
If those 2 do that, then I think we'll be okay. If not then I think we're 7-8.

Taking into account when Chris Sandow left I thought it was over, then Adam Reynolds came onto the scene and was 🔥 hopefully history can repeat itself

Yes losing will invigorate them,lol
Honestly, our recruitment has been garbage, im thinking the front office is understaffed as well,we are in for a lean year
Recruitment has been excellent as there wasn't a lot available and we didn't pay overs for ordinary players, we can't sign players that are already under contract to other clubs.

I disagree, looks like 2 of ours under contract are being released to join bennet, souths have a history of releasing players without playing hard ball, ala storm, we could have asked for a junior or 2 we could develop. Other teams agitate and poach contracted players why not us? I know money was tight but we offered AR 700k we offered gags 450k so ok forgets AR 700k gags 450 is available and we need backs, why couldnt we sign just 1 known first grader,? Eg mimorovski.
We dont seem to have the talent a recruiter, that can chase a player, letting gags go is going to cost us plenty, not forgeting AR .
Our recruitment this year has been diabolical, our nsw cup dosent seem to have been revitalised with nearly the same players signed including a 36 year old buddy gordon, dont forget we ran last.
Its great to prioratise juniors, but their development has been stunted the last 2 years, they wont be ready.
Many say it will be a transition year, as an excuse, i dont agree, the roosters had a stuffed up year last year injury wise they lost a few players for this year but take a look, their squad is rated as strong, im reading on zero tackle and other sites,we are very weak in backups 1 or 2 injurys will stump us. Then JD will cop the blame, its not right whats happened with retention and recruitment this year,im disappointed.
The other issue is bennett, he is not a souths legend, many are saying he is, he came got paid didnt get the chocolates he left and is now pinching and destabalising our team. Bennett is for bennett and cares about noone, please stop calling him a legend.

But the article you refer to is for our 2022 roster and the player you mentioned won't be released until 2023, he is at the end of his career and is not a top-line player so I don't see the problem.

Yes, goat will be near the end, knight is average, its getting harder to replace players, prices will go up due to the extra team poaching players. Souths recruitment is very average, we need to identify potential recruits quickly and jump, the last couple of seasons our recruitment team hasnt done the job

We've had roster problems because Richo overpaid, he's gone now and we're on a more stable path I think, we can't be in the gf every year.

I dont expect to be every year, at least we would want to stay in the top 6,like our enemys the rorters.
What we have done now is bumped us out of the 8, ill go so far as to say if we make the eight ill strip off and run the block.

Mate on paper we still have enough quality mixed in there.

Dont shit the bed yet I think we will end up 5th or 6th.

I expect us to maybe struggle the first month and everyone will be panicking but then I expect us to go on a bit of a run.

I'm prepared to sacrifice 2022 for the sake of ongoing success from 2023 onwards and you can't compare us to the rorters, as Braith anasta said the other week they have ways of getting around the salary cap to sign and keep almost any player they want.

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander, hence our inexperience or undermanned in the recruiting office

Stubborn boarder stance set to cost WA $15m as NRL looks to move Origin to different city: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...e/news-story/2a686392c7619d91b701b5cd5ebc5e33

Also, it appears certain that Milf will NOT be with us this year regardless.

From Zero Tackle,

Knights 'a lock' to land Milford's services

While former Brisbane playmaker Anthony Milford appears certain to agree to terms with the Dolphins ahead of the 2023 season, a single-season contact with the Knights is also likely to be tabled to the 27-year-old.

Given Milford's one-year contract with the Rabbitohs will not be honoured by the NRL due to his ongoing legal battles after being levelled with assault charges, the ex-Raider and Bronco recently faced the prospect of a 'gap year' before heading north to reunite with Wayne Bennett.

However, with the Dolphins unwilling to sign the Samoan international unless he is able to play first-grade football this season, Newcastle are reportedly set to extend a lifeline Milford's way in an effort to plug their halves void created by Mitchell Pearce's departure.

According to reports from Ben Dobbin of Triple M, the former million-dollar five-eighth "is a lock" to link up with the Hunter Region team.

"He [Milford] definitely won't play for South Sydney this year. That relationship is done," Dobbin stated on The Rush Hour.

"
I'm led to believe with some information I have been given over the past couple of days that is that the Newcastle 12-month deal is a lock.

"It's a lock. He'll play at Newcastle this year, but he will definitely be a Dolphin next year. That deal is done [and] they will announce it shortly."

The Knights are yet to make any official announcement or comment on their reported interest in Milford.

And fair enough if the treatment he has recieved from us is true, so why then are we not looking to recruit ? It would seem we now have the milfs 300plus spare, but my view is that our recruitment and retention is garbage and we have noone thats a specialist in the dept, ellison cant be expected to do the job of 2 or 3, im dirty, our depth is nil, and we expect juniors to take over.
