Sadly Ant and Dick did a shit version of The Likely Lads, a bottle of the Dog is made in North Yorkshire and a canny bag of Tudor was discountinued by it's new owner Walker Crisps.
Test your Tudor knowledge. Which of these canny flavours is fictitious?

Chocolate, Kipper, Brown Sauce, Roast Beef and Pickle, Blackcurrant and Curry.

Wow I'm impressed didn't know any them as it was such a long time I had them.
Nearly went for Hedgehog and Bovril as the made-up one. Those did exist as separate flavours made by different companies.

BTW, do you not have any interest in Newcastle Thunder?

Grass roots RL is growing in the NE. Cramlington Rockets were National Community Club of the year a while back. Whitley Bay Barbarians had a big female section pre-Covid. Couple of their products are now key players at Leeds.

Used to go and watch Gateshead back in the virgin years of 1999 and used to go to a number of games past 10 years with Challenge Cup game at Gateshead Stadium against St.Helens was brilliant...played a bit of League 25 years ago with the mens Barbarians team under Ken Skyes until I broke my left leg in training so lost my confidence so went over to Touch Rugby for a good enjoyable 10 years run by ex Halifax and 1987 Challenge Cup winner and currantly on the Hull coaching staff Seamus McCallion.

Gateshead we’re doing really well and in typical English rl fashion we’re allowed to die

they weren’t given the same tv grant other clubs were getting

hopefully the falcons owner gives up on union and concentrates on leave as his losses in union are massive

WTF is the matter with the people who run English Rugby League, they must have to be the most short-sighted f**ked-in-the-head bunch of people on the planet.
1907 a whole bunch of welsh union clubs joined the rfl but they wouldn’t cover travel costs and they all went bust

there loads of other examples

even recently making catalans pay a bond of 500k ? To play in the challenge cup (as Champs they almost didn’t)

The stark reality is there just isnt the money in the game in UK so they cant afford to risk all clubs just to bring in hopeful ones. The clubs that have come and gone sadly just havent had the backers or the fanbase to be sustainable at the top tier. SL is in a catch 22, cant afford to bring in new clubs, cant earn more money with the ones its got. Hopefully IMG finds the solution.

RL history is littered with poor decisions and short sightedness. Its why there are still only two fully prof. leagues in the world and both of those are geographically constricted to mostly traditional areas.

HahhA comparing the nrl to sl

You should do comedy

Italy we established clubs then I think the English wouldn’t support them so they went to union and are still around today

framce where in five years we overtook union then super league has failed to revive it (remember the promise of 2 French clubs)

Toronto where you had an Aussie multi millionaire investing tens of millions of pounds and English fans got mad because he made a joke about swinton

then we have the nrl expanding to png and taking games to Vegas

Your happy your club is in super league when the reality is hull should only have one club

imagine two clubs from a small town like hull and none from London

there isn’t the money in the English game because it’s insular and keeps supporting clubs who should’ve been killed off

Yeh like there isnt need for another club in Brisbane and Sydney has too many clubs. See what I mean about the games myopia and instance on supporting the heartlands whilst neglecting true expansion?

If another club can comes along in european RL and scores a higher class license than HKR and we are out of the top 12 license criteria for clubs then I have no problem with us making way for a bigger club. As it is there isnt and unlikely to be, which is sad for the game.
HKR will rate in the top 8 SL clubs licenses as will HFC. Thats why there will continue to be 2 clubs in Hull 140 years after they were both founded.

You are hilarious

London is a major world city

hull is a small port town that already has a team

everyone loves expansion as long as their club is in the top league

and adding a second team to Brisbane is the same as two hull clubs lmao

there’s a reason english and Australian leagues are where they are and it’s because of their leadership

Toronto had far bigger crowds than hull kr have ever gotten In super league

And one city has has fans, produces RL players, has sponsors and rich owners, and the other doesn't.
Thats why one city has 2 SL teams and London doesnt. When London can acheive those things in a sustained manner they will be back in SL, hopefully for a longer time next time.
SL isnt the NRl where clubs are bailed out thorugh huge grants, can be poorly functioning and still maintain a license forever more. Fail in SL and you are gone.

No the reason is RL in NSW and Qlnd doesn't have competition like RL in northern engalnd has. If AFL was the size of English soccer in Sydney and Brisbane then where would the NRl be?
Thats the reality of RL in England trying to compete with soccer and to some degree a southern class biased Union.
Not to mention pokie dens which have heaped misery on the community to fund RL in this country for the last 70 years.
RL leadership has generally been sht in both countries and many others, hence why we are still such a tiny world sport.

Lmao London produces loads and loads of juniors

when northern union clubs broke away from the rfu they had assets and were established.

And rugby was dominant north of Sheffield

when the nswrl was formed it had zero assets and soccer union and vfl were all entrenched in Sydney and Brisbane

there’s a reason rugby league came out on top here and not in England
