No we get average BVOD data from Oztam.

AU Press releaes always specifiy average, peak or reach viewers.
oh and dont take it from me and the herald. Take it from Skys annual reports - the TOTAL customer base of SkyNZ - not Skysport - was 1.015m. Note the sport streaming service has 149,000 subscribers.

And Prime which Sky open took over has how many viewers?

As for the ratings, A League and NBL take just the viewer number

That is it. Sky Open has reported 1m watched the Rugby. That is 100% of sky's customer base or a very likely a split across both platforms

They also reported 700k for first round of finals for Warriors.

Across Pay and Fta.

This prelim final last night has every chance to cross the 1m mark, which would mean 2.8m+ watched last nights games across NZ and Aus.

A record for a prelim not easily beaten if at all.

Yep. Paramount plus could do the same here with A League, They choose to announce them
Seperately.

Again as I said, The data is there if you want to include it or not

Seriously guys the Wookie actually knows what he’s talking about. The NZ data is not defined as yet as far as I can work out. As for somebody’s opinion on Twitter. Good luck with that. What is clear is that, as usual, we are behind the fumblers in Australia during the finals series. We’ve clearly beaten them during the season as usual and they are beating us in the finals. Get over it lads.

Is it reach or average audience? There is a massive difference.

SkyNZ themselves are providing the data via twitter, Not some random account. What purpose does it serve them to lie?

I didn’t say they were. I’m just not sure what the data means and how it relates to our local reporting.

Here is another thought. If we are going down this road of throwing the NZ ratings in, then comparing the codes is false equivalency. One has two countries represented. The other has one. Throwing the ratings of two countries in to the mix basically makes the comparison meaningless. But do go on. Chalk and cheese and all that.

They arent necessarily lying.

According to their annual report the entire Super Rugby season was watched by 1.8m and the final was watched by more than 700,000. There is literally no specific data here to draw a conclusion as to whether its reach - which the first figure almost certainly is - or what the 728,000 is.

The report also notes 2.8m people watched Prime (now SkyOpen) in the entirety of the 2023 FY

Im not saying its impossible, Im saying id like some clarification. That is literally all I want.

You are a very patient man. I’m as one eyed league as you can get but I’m only interested in facts not fantasy. Keep up the great work mate.

How else do you measure it though?

The Warriors owners, sponsors etc need something to measure by, Nielsen data doesn't include reach breakdowns.

Then that would be the same for other sports over there.

Super Rugby, NBL and A League just include the total number, So to do so for NRL isn't incorrect.

I imagine when the NRL does the end of season they will include it in total viewers that watched it. To help increase sponsor ship dollars
