Ilias would have to star at #9 in NSW Cup over several rounds to get a look in for 1sts off the bench to start with but yeah, he could be a goer in that possie if that's what they decide. He'd have to learn a fair bit though about dummy half play and sharpen up his acceleration off the mark.

And lets hope AJ is back sooner than expected.

Ilias would not get a spot in the mullumbimby girl guides touch footy squad lol.

I think Illias

I think Illias at hooker is a good move tbh.

Ilias is told he can find another club the sad part about it anasta cant find a club for the dud. Anyway Humpreys who will be hooker is a goal kicker plus dodd kicks goals as well. But because our club is dumb and the troubled child trellmyth whom runs our club i guess he will be our #1 kicker.

L. Ilias should be given an opportunity to play #9.
He is battle hardened, can defend stoutly and he will not be required to kick or deliver precise passes on the run. See if Ilias can be transformed into a Marshall-King style footballer. Burt definetly has to look at that option.
Further, Johnston should be back running strongly by late November. No contact, just running. Achilles tendon tears do not require anywhere near the length of absence as for ACL ruptures. Just ask Aaron Rodgers, who has resumed playing in the NFL at age 41.
Depends if its an achilies rupture or tear.

If rupture going to take abit of time to come back from if tear its half the time.

ACL you can be walking on it after 3 weeks.

Achillies ruptures are moon boots for at least 3 months then physio, then you can start run around month 6-7.

Achillies are much more harder to recover from then ACLS.

Aaron Rodgers suffered the same injury as Johnston at age 40 in early September '23, yet he wanted to resume playing by December the same year! This stunned many. He put it down to surgical technique - it was called a Bridge style operation - and disciplined diet, targeting his collagen build up. The man is back starting at 41 and for a QB he runs and scrambles a lot so the rectification work must have been good because he has to avoid 250 to 300 lb guerillas trying to end his career!
Rodgers is much older than Johnston. No way - if Johnston read my initial feedback to him on Facebook - he misses the time assumed. I also know that most tendon tears usually take around 4 months fo soccer players to recover full training. They are serious injuries but recovery from ACL tears can be a nightmare, especially if players fail to undertake the regular re-hab sessions demanded.

Do we know if AJ had the “Bridge Style operation “ though?

Apparently Oregon Kafusi hasn’t taken up his player option for next season so is a free agent for next year. Could be worth a chat
Mentioned this months ago. Thing is, the Sharks have now lost Hunt recently which may see them able to now retain Kaufusi but they may all have decided to wait until after the Sharks' season is over.

Otherwise, he would be a very decent and affordable addition to our rotation.

They still have AFB to add and Hazelton has really stepped up
But maybe they’ll also go after rcg which leaves the door open for us to nab kafusi

I doubt they'll go for RCG - I can see the Roosters snaring him. Not even sure if we are hunting a 1st grade prop although I think we should.

Wouldn't be surprised if we go after JAC if he gets the sack from the Dogs.
