Not till late next yearAre they starting that at seasons end?
Have seen mixed reports whether the Tigers will be able to play any games at the venue in 2027.Construction of the upgrade is due to commence at the conclusion of the 2026 winter season.
Makes sense, the old stands at the south end have been out of action for years. I forgot about them. There’s a new stand on one end I think it will make leichardt a 18/19k capacity.
4K increased capacity & upgraded toilet blocks & change rooms apparentlyI’m not sure the upgrade will increase capacity much. Isn’t it more a health & safety plus redecoration job?
Keith Barnes (south) has been remediatedMakes sense, the old stands at the south end have been out of action for years. I forgot about them.
I remember LO when it ran East West. It was a big step up when it was redeveloped to run N/S, and the spotlighting was the best in Sydney for quite a while. Then the new stand along the west. Nothing done ever since. From (fading) memory, I don’t think that stand was ever finished to the proposed standard - I think there was supposed to be extra function space behind?
Plus cafe and expanded members facilities4K increased capacity & upgraded toilet blocks & change rooms apparently
so if you base it off today I guess 20k will be the new capacity .. like others have said if you play the low drawing teams like titans & cowboys etc only at Leichhardt it’d be alright
The stand on the north collapsed and getting replaced
There was a raised platform with railings that Old Boys from Joeys pushed overThere was never a stand on the north end.

He might be talking about the other stand that once existed at the Southern end next to the Barnes Stand (left), it's now an extended part of the hillThere was never a stand on the north end.
Newcastle looks good but there's no way those north and south hills should be considered sold out.
If they are, O H and S has gone crazy.
No rivalry with the titans and tigers playing pretty poorly, kinda surprised with the 16k crowd tbh .. but yes it is a great indication of how crowds are booming in the NRLWell if there was any doubt about the NRL's growing crowds, they got squashed at Leichhardt today with that crowd and a rare sellout crowd involving the Titans in New South Wales. They have a history of horrible crowds in Sydney as they aren't a draw for crowds with rare exemptions. But today, from at least what I could see on TV, people could barely move, especially on the hill. It shows how far we've come in the last few years
