Had a look at the replay of the forward pass call. Atkins literally has his back turned to the play when the ball was thrown, so it must have been a call from the touchie.

I know we won anyway but I just about can’t handle the current refereeing anymore. That disallowed try to Brailey was one of the best you’ll see and completely legal but they still needed to find a problem with it. The refs 100% officiate based on who’s supposed to win.

It was the wrong call and it could have cost us the game but it is what it is, it must have been a call from the touchie. I guess I feel like it all evens out by the end of the season, especially when it comes to forward passes. Sometimes they just get them wrong, they're not as easy to adjudicate on live as some other aspects of the game imo. It sucked that it was a good try that got denied, though.

Yet the no restarting of the tackle count after it touched the Hammer genuinely irritated me more. Maybe because the forward pass had happened, then this? Atkins was right there and was looking right at it. What did he think happened? That felt less like an "error" than the forward pass call tbh.
