I watched the last 5 minutes, there was definitely a lack of intensity in this so-called origin match, certainly compared to our version. Watching the players mingle after the match revealed a lot to me, laughing and chatting, it really gave the `exhibition match` vibe, looked like they`d hardly raised a sweat.
I`d read during the week a comment by some ex-`great` that anything over 100 points each would show that the players weren`t really taking it serious.
I think for the fumbles this contest is all going to depend upon WA winning, and from what I read this is unlikely given the disparity in depth, one article said that some players in the WA team wouldn`t make the top 20 in the corresponding position in the Vic team.
All up, there didn`t seem to me to be the desperation in the WA team to have them win enough to keep this interesting, a couple of years of that and it will be curtains for the whole concept.
