Any reason he couldn't make this tournament still.

He popped into my head when I saw the thread.

His ODI retirement is surely just to manage workload. He is the first bat I pick in the WC.

I think guaranteed:

Head
Smith
Carey
Starc
Zampa

I'd have Maxwell too but I'm unsure at his age if he will make it. Likewise Mitch Marsh. But they are our cleanest hitters so selectors will give them every chance.

Its the rest of the top 4 spots I am curious about. I think we might see Carey bat a bit higher.

Bowlers we have plenty of options so I'm not fussed.

He might have a crack at the Olympics (if the dead shit USA isn't in full blown civil war by then) but otherwise I reckon the 150th Anniversary Test is probably his last.

Even if not, he won't be playing any more ODIs
