That's just a myth really that the Union-loving newspapers want you to believe. In terms of attendances at club games and television audiences for clubs games, league is 2nd biggest by some margin. Union and cricket are bigger during international season, and tennis is bigger during Wimbledon. I maintain that RL would be easily the 2nd most popular sport overall if it had a proper international scene. It goes back to the old problem though, that Southern-based newspaper editors are biased against RL. Almost all of them went to posh schools where they played Union and were taught to turn their noses up at anything north of Leicester. The media coverage we get in no way reflects the popularity of the sport. Equally, Union gets a lot more coverage than it deserves.it's hard to believe league might be the 4th biggest when half of england dont even like or care about league
Seriously? :lol:Higher than I expected. I thought darts would have beaten league for certain.
