What a day. We were given the bye in our return year. Then an away game against NQLD. Finally we got our turn back at Brookie. We had been out for 3 long years.

I was Standing on the hill of Brookie with a bunch of friends cheering on Manly. I can remember pondering... How long will it take?

For the record we went down in that game. In the dying stages. It took until round 5 for us to get our first win. We had a team of Nevilles. Most of them rejects from the failed joint venture. The players no other team wanted to steal. We had a few good young prospects, and Beaver.

It's good to be back at the top. Thanks to all the management and staff that have worked so hard to put the club back to the top from the dead in 5 and one half years.

If someone had said, 2017 days.... I probably would have laughed.
