I noticed Smith has stopped all the pre face up fidgets, he just stands there with backlift raised now, seems to settle him a bit.

Labs needs to be a bit more dynamic. Or 'busy' as Warney used to put it.

He will need to start getting busy as the bloke averages just under 32 which isn't enough to play in the top/middle order. Khwaja/Smith in those positions at the last world cup who both average over 40 at ODI level.

Selectors are still trying to bat Carey higher up the order so he might end up taking his job. We have plenty of all-rounder options to fill 5-8 (Maxwell, Marsh, Green, Stoinis, Abbott, Baldy mk2.)
