Absolutely outstanding knock. How good is Clarke. Remember how the English thought they worked him out
Wow...
Just saw that Clarke averages over 65 at home and only 42 away!
Is that a sign of how good Aussie wickets are/or just not transferring his form overseas?
Did Warne just call Clarke the best player of spin in the world?
Not even close.
2nd best batsman in the world IMO, easily (behind Amla) but definitely not the best player of spin. There's a shitload of Indians, as well as Amla, who can lay claim to that title. Even Cook after his brilliant series in India.
Hey just raising a fair debate.
Does a batsman need to dominate in foreign conditions to be considered a true great? Or just feast on home wickets?
As a comparison, Hashim Amla averages 47 at home (in the worlds best conditions for seamers) and an amazing 58 away.Hey just raising a fair debate.

A fine argument indeed.Nah Clarke's the best. Please deport tommy smith for crimes against knowing stuff about cricket.
And the man I consider Australia's second greatest batsman of all-time, Greg Chappell, averaged 54 at home and 53 away.
:shock:Clarkie's footwork is probably the best but Amla, please
footwork is non existent and he is more of an ODI player than a 5 day player for mine
A fine argument indeed.
Clarke averages 40 in India.
Hashim Amla averages 102 in India.
Bradman would be the best, locky.Did Bradman not play?
A test average of 52.33 with 27 50s and 20 hundreds from just 71 tests.
He averages 58 away from home and 102 in India.
How on earth can anyone consider him more of an ODI player? That's obscene.

That makes him superior to Clarke IMO.

And?have a look at the batting rankings ODIs and Tests
Amal grew up around that region, should be good on those pitches.
A fine argument indeed.
