This Aussie batting line up is now reminiscent of the Windies one of the late 90s, early 2000s.

Now granted Clarke isn't quite as good as Brian Lara, but he's such a quality player and towers over the rest of your batting line up. Only difference is his Shiv (Hussey) retired last year!

Great player who will soon need some help, particularly overseas where you don't get the flat wickets you do in Australia - RSA, England, India (spinners wicket), NZ.

wtf

We've never been beaten in South Africa since they came back into international cricket, inc when Clarke was captain last time we were there. In England our batting dwarfed all over yours per man. Only one player Bell got you home, and of course the weather saved your ass in a couple

NZ ?? LOL

Amla averages 102 in India and 75 in England.

Clarke averages 40 in India and 45 in England.

Now these are only two points of comparison, but to laugh off Amla's achievements as a test player is comical.

Who is laughing at Amla as a test cricketer??

Anderson and Swann look shot. Big worries for England.
Agreed. Two of our big 3 bowlers and they look cooked.

Tbh Anderson has looked done ever since the 1st test back in England.

And Stokes is just a giant waste of space.

Do we start to think of a declaration at some point?
If we are still batting after tea it can make it difficult to get a result.

Well apparently "he's more of an ODI player" and a comparison with Clarke? "please".

To me they're neck and neck as the worlds best with only Amla's sensational overseas record, particularly the big three - 102 in India, 75 in England and 57 in Australia compared to Clarke, 40 in India, 45 in England and 34 in RSA - giving Amla an unbeatable argument to be considered no.1.

Nah if I was Australia I'd rack up as many runs as possible in the 1st innings in the hope that it gets difficult to bat sooner rather than late.

Particularly when, if you do score big, it'll definitely be at a fair clip with Clarke, Haddin, Johnson and Harris all naturally quick scorers.

It became boring smashing the Poms when we were great, but this is exceptionally entertaining, even if it is only 1 test and 2 days so far.

Funny how the articles a few months back about Australia's lack of proper coaching have morphed into "England is over managed" now

lol

Hey if one is all too happy to show their face and gloat when their team is winning then they must have the balls to show up in defeat.

Besides, with that nut gobbler James Brayshaw sucking any Aussie wang he can find (mainly Warner's) and Slats not far behind, I feel as though you guys deserve an alternative viewpoint from time to time. :D

We're already very aware of Brayshaw and his nauseating level of bias and dickheadedness.
