Dilshan smacking the England attack around - nearly time to give Trott a bowl ...

I think they're missing Anderson a bit

Not quite...At 3/22 i was pretty happy. Bell looked clueless out there and it should have been 4/30. Watching yesterday whilst watching the Warriors V Roosters was pathetic bowling. England got way too many way too quick.

However, the batting side of things are looking good. Sanga and Jaya are due for a big score. Dilshan played a very good innings, punished anything loose.

Twizzle, don't jump the gun mate! :D

That was Dilshan's first Test hundred outside of Asia (if you don't count Zimbabwe)

don't speak too soon lol
indeed, the first one should have been draw especially given all the rain delays, but England found a way to win. It's only day 2 and this one is still anyone's game. Day 3 and day 4 should be good indicators. Sri Lanka are the kind of team who don't mind scoring 600+ runs though.

Sri Lanka 2/344 at lunch on day 3
Dilshan on 187 not out, batting superbly (80.95 strike rate) looks like making his maiden double ton and the English bowlers are looking woeful thus far

When Trott and Cook were batting together, I believed England were shaping up to win this. I think they definitely can still win it, but the first session tonight will be very important and I can't see England batting beyond it. 100 in the morning session would give then 250 to bowl at and early wickets is all that's really needed to undo the Sri Lankan batting order. How the wicket plays will be a factor too, but I am sure England will turn up in the field - much unlike they did in the first innings

Really hope KP makes some runs

A double ton would be nice. That would give him about two more Tests until people start calling for his head again

Hopefully there will be a result. I think Sri Lanka are hoping for a draw after their collapse, but I think they should be aiming for a result too, they're the team who actually need one in the context of the series.

I think England would be aiming for a result and Strauss will be tactical with his declaration to set them up for a chance. I think England are having a serious run at this number one ranking

And there's the declaration - England with a lead of 342. Still a good wicket, 60 overs left to play (maybe 58). Game might just be out of reach for Sri Lanka, but if they get a good start with the ball, you could back England to finish them and get a result
