Lets get back in the saddle ASAP

Changes need to be made, not sure will make a difference if decks are prepared like Nagpur.

We need to pick a team that can take 20 wickets. We do want to try win a test don't we?

Go for GOLD

Head
Khawaja
Marnus
Smith
Green
Carey
Cummins
Swepson
Murphy
Lyon
Morris

Id even look to hook Lyon and put in Agar at 6, desperate time desperate measures

Best we can hope for is a draw somewhere, india won't be serving up a flat deck so you can forget about that..

I'd drop Lyon. He is a below average bowler. I don't care how many wickets he has. You can have 1000 wickets but if you get them at 32 you are not a game winner. You are not even a better than average bowler.

the Boat has to go, I'd go Harry Potter and Swepson but no way will the selectors do this

Head has to come back in which is rather obvious and Green should be fit, there are another 2 bowling options right there

Starc/Lyon will feature if fit.

I'll be interested to see what they do if Green is still unfit. Wondering if Agar is on their mind. Can bat a bit and offers slow left arm shithouse. Most likely Handscomb though.

I don't think the top order will change. Head in for Renshaw. Will give us another bowling option.

As long as we have our quota of left and right handers we'll be fine. Renshaw decided the team needed no handers as well so all areas covered.
Now that's out of my system, moving on.

We don't know if Head would have done better, but he's the designated hero because he's in form and was left out. He might have got two pairs for all we know. Still he's got to come back in the side after that disaster.

Only way to shift Warner or Lyon from the team is with dynamite or retirement.
Head a Green both to bowl.

My team would be something like this:
1. Khawaja
2. Labs - He practically opens anyway with Warner not lasting any time.
3. Smith
4. Head
5. Green
6. Handscombe - He went ok in the first innings it was a low bar though so yeah... Would have been better if he stayed not out. Would have strengthened his claim.
7. Carey
8. Cummins
9. Starc/Hazlewood if fit. One of those two depending on fitness.
10. Murphy
11. Swepson - Can't do any worse than Lyon. Give him a shot.
Probably needs tweaking a bit, but something along those lines. Plenty of batting and bowling options is what I'd be looking for. Head and Green give us that.

Team I expect
1. Warner - Anyone have any dynamite?
2. Khawaja - needs to score runs or we'll be sending an SOS to Marcus Harris of all people whilst Warner sticks around.
3. Marnus
4. Smith
5. Head (surely he's back in the side)
6. Green
7. Carey
8. Cummins
9 Starc or Hazlewood
10 Murphy - First bowler I'd pick after last game. Well done. Please keep that going
11 Lyon - He'll bowl us to victory any game now, I just know it. He's due.

Having a bit of an in-depth look at Baldie Lyon's stats, just to see where he got his 🐐 reputation from.

Against almost everyone his career average of 31.86 is pretty similar. The big outliers are Bangladesh (where he has only played 2 matches) 14.32. He's around 10 runs on average worse against India, Pakistan and South Africa.

Then there is New Zealand who he averages 20.52 in 10 matches.

So I blame New Zealand for Lyon repeatedly getting selected.

AB doesn’t like nice guys, and to be honest either do I.

I think Smith has earned the right to do whatever he wants when he bats. If it was on if the others doing it, then AB would probably have a point.

The usual jellyfish coming out cheering on Franger.

I'm not convinced on McDonald who seems to have some cockeyed ideas, but the raving lunatic that is JL is worse.

They probably need to be reminded that we lost two series at home to India under JL, including one against India's C team.

I love AB, but maybe he should just watch Smith, the frenetic weirdo just has to do shit to fill time while dealing with mere mortals

yeah, perhaps the coaching isn't so much the thing, and India are just really quite good

from what I have seen of Kuhnemann, we could do a lot lot worse than give the BOAT a "rest". Starc for unlucky Boland because you can't drop the captain, bring in Green for Renners and Head for War- I mean Handscomb.
