SL won toss and batted

5/305 at stumps day 1

Jayawardene 140 not out
Sangga 0
Mathews 63

Tahir 0/92

Hopefully SL can push for well over 450 total

Tahir was expensive the minute he came on - not sure why they persist with him.

Surely there are better options?

They so badly want Tahir to become that spinner to fill that long empty void.
Too bad he's rubbish.

139 run first innings lead to SL

0/11 in their 2nd dig

SA doing it tough not being able to tamper the ball this test

Mathews is fast turning into one of the most reliable batsman in the world. At 27, his best years are ahead of him.

I agree on Mathews, but I would take a pinch of salt with Sri Lankan runs scored at the SCC as well.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing, would have liked SL to declare a bit earlier

SA 6/125, need another 244 to win

about 10 overs left in the game

draw coming up and SA series win

I think Mathews declared at the right time. The rain is what stuffed things. Barely any overs were bowled in the first session on Day 5.
