It was hard to split them after Pearce who was the standout. I though Jennings provided spark with what little ball we had and Guerra worked all night.

The defence was brilliant but I am not as enamoured with this result as the media seems to be. If we give away that much ball when it counts we will get flogged. When will our players learn that if they get 50% of possession they are talented enough to beat any team, we beat most teams with 40% possession.

This was a bloody tough game to watch... it felt like we had about 6 straight sets in the second half where we made unforced errors and couldn't make it to the 4th tackle. Maloney dropping the kick off after the penalty cold was just awful too, and after that it looked like taking the kick off was beyond us. Thankfully our defence was solid, but ironically it was a BS called against Jennings "losing the ball" in the play the ball (despite the ball never actually leaving his hand) that turned the game for us - a shocking pass by Cronk off the scrum putting us back in front.

3. Pearce- redeemed himself after conceding our first 2 penalties. both were 3rd or 4th tackle from memory and were the reason we were under so much pressure after getting of to such a good start.
2. Jennings- always looked dangerous, really need to get him more ball.
1. Friend- Read in the Australian today that he was admitted to hospital after the game with bleeding on his lungs. hope he's not out too long.

Positives- more great work on the short kicking game. Pearce mentioned in the post game presser that its something they have specifically been working on as they had identified they were one of the worst in the league at generating repeat sets. great defence as well.

Negatives- we cant drop that much ball and expect to win. the 4th tackle penalties were also killers. think I spotted 3-4? the players need to be smart enough to know its the 4th tackle and not give the ref any possible reason to blow the whistle.

They're a frustrating team to watch in wet weather. Thank f**k their defence compensated for poor handling.
