What a joke, the Dragons were right in the game in the first 10 minutes, maybe somebody needs to remind Steve Price and most of the team a game still runs for 80 minutes. If more effort is not put in soon, 50 to nil might start becoming a familiar scoreline.:(

We improved in the ruck against Parra which was pleasing but for only our completion rate 19/38 to destroy any chance of being competitive. Parra had 60% possession. Sure Benji made a few errors but clearly as their were 19 non completions he wasn't on his own, aside for the errors I thought he had some spark and defended quite well.

Special mentions to Mata'Utia in his 1st run was flawless, No problem with the high ball, no missed tackles and good metres (More than Morris). He has to play centre when Gypsy returns. Runciman had a pretty good game in NSW Cup as well. Dugan played well with his usual tackle breaks and good mtrs. Beales defense was excellent with the only blemish coming in on Sandow when I thought Creagh had him covered, Morris also came in off his wing to allow a try but had a sound game otherwise. Widdop tried hard all day but came up with a poor missed tackle which let in a try.

Merrin and JDB both defended well in the 2nd half and Thompson had a pretty mixed game and will find his way back into the forwards next week. I think Cooper was in the same boat as he missed a few crucial tackles with some soft attempts and ffs he and Hunt should never ever ever defend next to each other! I though Will Matthews defended very well when he came on.

Hunt made 2 runs for 8mtrs!!!! WTF is that? He needs to go to the Cutters and take Harrison with him! Rory O'brien was a bit of a handful and Ailoamai could also come up to NRL. The player in the Cutters that impressed me most and has every time I've watched him is Tia-Kilifi. Williams played pretty well, Kyle wasn't spectacular, Groat was terrible and just isn't good enough for NSW Cup.

Mata Utai showed enough to come into the centres when Flo is back and Thompson back in the pack.Piss AhMau ,Hunt off for christs sake.
Benji I'm sure will come good, the team needs to read his game also.A couple of passes were overrun ,f#*k the haters ,he will be better for the run.

I think Parra got 4-5 penalties in the first 12 minutes of the game. I cant remember them all but there was a dumb leg pull from Rein. That put us on the back foot. The only positives I can see for the game were:

- Mata'utia had a great first outing and shows that he can handle first grade. Needs to move to Centres once Nightingale is back

- Defensive linespeed early in the game was improved, as was early goal line defense. Unfortunately this didn't continue

- Marshall will be better for the run and showed effort. He and Widdop have 2 weeks to work on combinations. Hopefully Price does not play him in the Cutters as someone will probably try and make a name for themselves by taking his head off.

Things I have noticed recently that I do not like in our play (besides the obvious)

- Rein passes to a prop like Hunt. Instead of taking the hit up they pass it to another prop/second row - WTF?

- Morris rushing in off the wing last game. Cost us big time

- Stupid penalties

- Ruck speed still rubbish as are some of our attacking options. Early in the game we had Creagh kicking for goodness sake (although he did get a repeat set. Maybe Price can put him in the halves)

Mate no offence meant to you , and have agreed with a lot of your past posts , but i must ask how you could possibly see any positives from what i would call one of the most inept and uncommitted performances i can remember a Dragons side dishing up. THAT was shit and no one in the side last saturday put in a first grade performance period. Weve had 108 points scored against us in the last 3 games while scoring a grand total of 20 , time to be looking for answers not positives. I dont agree with you on Mata Utai his goal line defence is suspect , ive seen it in the cutters and again with Samoa and again he watched Hayne( i think) cruise in , it will just be another problem for us .

There was a few overwhelming positives come out of that game on Saturday.
1st a new coach is required, 2nd the Dragons need a forward Pack with a bit of mongrel in them and 3rd Peter Dousts time as an official of the club has reached it's end.
