Whether its true or not, you just dont say things like that in public and not expect to get cop it, It was obviously said to grab attention. {mind you this was said way before there was to be any challenge to either board and before we all knew the true effects of the economic crisis as we do today}
If your employer told you your job wasnt guaranteed wouldnt you think, Geez if the boss thinks its that bad I better start making alternate plans before they go under and lose all my entitlements? Yep and I'd do some thing about it, after thanking him for the tip
(Or do you think ah he's just trying to scare me) ---don't know ask Ansett workers
You think thats what it takes to attract sponsors and high profile players?

FOOLISH STATEMENT

Ask the blokes at the Beagles what they thought about not getting paid, and if they preferred the 'head in the sand' approach.

IS ANYONE ON THE NEW BOARD PREPARED TO REPUDIATE FITZY AND GIVE AN IRON CLAD GUARANTEE THAT THE CLUB WILL BE HERE IN 5 YEARS...that's all I want to know.

Now that the election is over, there shouldn't really be a 3P going forward, or a 3P website... it should just be an LC Board of Directors, united and working with management under the banner of the Club, in the purpose of improving things rather than scoring points.

The sooner they drop the empty attempt to install Sassen and Saad on the Board in spite of the constitution and election rules the better for the club imo.

I think the fact in was overwhelmingly in favour of 3p, Gerard & Hilditch aren't really worthy to be there according the voting members. They would have polled better.

No one can dispute the numbers in the vote.

I'm just disputing the wisdom (and legality) of attempting to change the rules of the election after it has happened.

Every candidate knew the rules of this election before they ran, and what they had to do to get elected (which was to get in the top four if you weren't also an FC Director). Changing it now is like changing a 1600m horse race to a 2000m race, after they've crossed teh winning post.

Propose to change it for next time maybe, if they think that is wise... I'm not sure changing the Special Consideration now or in the future achieves anything for the club's well being.

I would NEVER vote in favour of that motion.

Same for me, and the feedback I had while at the LC over the weekend leads me to believe many others who also voted 3p will not support this motion.

And so be it. As the weekend's results showed, it's up to the members to make their voices heard when the official time comes. However, those people against it will have to make sure they turn up to vote no, otherwise they should stfu if it passes!

Can't really blame 3P for trying to do this though. They got double the votes of anyone else and did mention that they would attempt the move well prior to election day.

If I were Hilditch or Gerard I'd be embarrased to be on the board under the current circumstances as opposed to being elected in our their own right.
Having said that, If the status quo remains hopefully the club moves ahead as we all should agree on this. And if not 2 years is not far away

Why would they be embarrassed? I understood that clause was in the constitution since the club started in '59. Everyone should've known that when they stood for election!

With the election now over and the new board to take over from 5th May what are you looking to most of the promises made.
some things to look forward to:-
-cheaper season tickets
-after match functions at the leagues where you will get a beer without lining up for 20mins:crazy:

Oh, if they actually try and change it I will turn up to vote alright, but I will not STFU if it passes. I was totally against seperating the NRL team from the FC at the 2000 AGM and I certainly didn't STFU when that one passed either.

They got the votes, including mine, for positions on the board Mickdo but that doesn't translate into a mandate to remove that rule. I voted 3p, I haven't been asked to vote for changing that rule yet, which requires a 75% majority, so don't presume the voting count will be the same.

My STFU reference was only to those who do not turn up to vote. If you turn up and vote then I am all for you voicing your opinion. It's those voting members that can't be bothered making the effort that I have no time for (excluding interstate members of course).
