He sold Plodcroft down the river. If Smith asked for it to be done, why did he not do it himself? Don’t ask others to do what you aren’t prepared to do yourself. How dare he ask his most vulnerable and most inexperienced player to do something like this, he was in essence prepared to sacrifice the integrity of one of his own.

That Steven is not leadership material. You have seriously let down the fine history of the baggy green.

'Timezone differences'

It's called a telephone dickhead, get Smith out of bed if you have to.
Mate his job should be on the line, Sutherlands first call should of been to Smith full stop and then the coaches.

His effort here was even more embarrassing than the behaviour of his team last night.

Highly doubtful when they fine people for ball tampering in a Shield Final.

It really isn't the same.

It's test cricket for one. Representing your country.

We have admitted it was sanctioned by the leadership group. So Australia are cheaters, not Smith, not Bancroft. All of them.

And our inaction today suggests there is more to the story. Sutherland must be concerned about Lehmann's involvement.

The ICC will fine. We need to take the next step.

More like more fines and maybe missing some 50 over or T20 games....

Certainly not the bloodletting people are calling for.

If anyone is sacrificed it will be Lehmann who's going anyway.

I can't help but think about the DRS incident with Smith in India. It seems as though there is some serious rot going on in the dressing room.

Better still, Sutherland should have been up dealing with it immediately after the conference.
He had 8 hours to talk to Smith,Warner,Bancroft and the coach. Instead he was probably wandering around that park like a dishevelled homeless person and they finally found him and organised that press conference.

Why isn't Sutherland flying over to SA himself to sort this out??? Shovelling it off to overs.

What does he even do????

I suppose, from a logical perspective he couldn't really sack anyone right now. Basic investigative technique is to get everyone alone, and get their stories separately.

But would not be surprised if this ends with Smith done as captain, Warner done as vice-captain, Lehmann done as coach and the whole leadership group missing the fourth test.

As those journos on the footy show just said, one of the biggest issues about this is how unphased Smith seemed by the whole thing. It was like 'yeah I got caught cheating, oh well'.

This is 100% the increasing influence of Lehmann being a dickhead and his win at all costs attitude. All you have to do is read what Ed Cowan has to say about his final tour, Lehmann's first as coach. He's the kind of toxic dickhead that was always going to lead to a side like this.

Surely he should of said he will be finishing this test and then he will be stood down from the next test with Bancroft. Once they get all the facts the whole leadership group might be stood down.

The Captaincy will be decided at least after the last test.

Show something instead of waffling about Facts and look like he was about to cry.
