Steyn has been ruled out but might be back for the fourth test (and perhaps his last?), while Philander has now been ruled out of the series.

South Africa have released their spinner and are set to play four quicks, with Hardus Viljoen to debut.

No changes expected for England.

I think the Proteas have to consider dropping Faf.

I'm not a big subscriber to looking at strike rates in test cricket, but he scores at such a glacially slow pace that he puts a massive amount of pressure on the other batsmen.

I reckon this Rabada kid will be something special. Only 20, still very raw. He keeps on progressing and steered the right way he will become on of the best fast bowlers of our game

Broad did bowl pretty well, kept the ball up and got good sideways movement but the pitch was perfect for his bowling so the stage really was set for him
