40/20 Kicks

Does anyone have any stats on how often a 40/20 occurs? As in like in how many games a 40/20 occurs or so on..

Mullen on the weekend kicked 2 in the 1 game, a mammoth effort considering I think 40/20's are a huge rarity!

It is not often this kind of play is attempted, and the chances of being it pulled off are very low. This is why I want to know how often they happen. I know Mullen, Farah and Cronk are specialties at pulling them off but is there anyone else?

Mullen has kicked 10 x 40/20's in his whole career so far... 2 of them were last night.

It's great being a Cowboys supporter sometimes.

It usually pays $3.75 if you want to be on it. So 1 in every 3 games?

I would think higher than 1 in every 3 games! There are no stats I can find that prove this but I cant remember too many games I watch where it happens.

I know it happened in round 1 with Sam Williams and 2 off Mullen on the weekend but has there been any others this season??

Mullen's second one was pure class from a left footer. Played for the leg spin and nailed it.

His first one was Huge too, a 30-10.

He really has the ball on a string so far this season.

They should extend 40-20s to include the in goal side line. That would make the target a lot bigger and keep it to a long kick.
Additionally they need to go back to a 40-20 being a scrum restart rather than a tap.
The scrum should be on the 10 metre line.

One of the top priority's for a Apex in modern day Top Ball is kicking a 40/20 into the dead in goal

They should make a rule that after a 40/20, Gould or any other commentator can’t declare it down to the metre. A 40/20 is a 40/20. I don’t care if it’s a 38/17

You're not moved by "40/20! What a kick by player x... wowee, it was a 35/15! Incredible" commentary?

With 40-20 rule that I have always been trying to improve, it has come to me that the best rule would be that the target area includes the in goal sideline (still a long accurate kick but a bigger target) and if you get a 40-20 across the in goal touch line it is also 1 point.
It should also then be a scrum on the 5m line. All 40-20s should be a scrum on the 5 m line.
