Too easy an out for a team struggling to work the ball out their half and It would penalize good defence.

Still a freebie for the team with the ball if the defence that has done well to keep the opposition inside their 40 then have to compromise their line on the 5th to drop their wingers back. Why reward poor attack and penalize good defence. Same with the stupid " held up over the line rule " where failure is rewarded instead of good defence. And anyway I'd like it a lot if we would stop changing the rules every year for no good reason. Give it a rest.
