Exactly. There's a difference between tactics and strategy. Yes, you can have an overall strategy (think holistic;long term), but still alter your tactics (think specific, tailored, situation specific) to suit the batsman and the situation.

All of one, (strategy) none of the other (tactics). There is a high resistance to depart from team orders. But, you can't implement a successful strategy without being flexible in your tactics to achieve said overall strategy.

And I feel like it has a bit to do with having a bowling captain.

What do we reckon the minimum overs required for England to win is? I think they will need at least 20 overs you would hope. The absolute most I could see us surviving is about 65 overs. I reckon 30 overs of play would be about 50/50 chance of survival. So we are hoping for at least 4.5 sessions to be washed out.

Be careful. Had a big night on Coopers Red a few years ago and had one of the worst hangovers of all time. Couldn’t move the next day.

Grog and endone is grouse though. Enjoy.
