Watson... at least he's consistent and deserves his average of 40-odd

Hughes... he tried but he's a nuffie at heart and could't resist going fishing with his feet going away to leg

Khawaja... good signs, stick with him permanently at 3

Clarke... LOL, unfortunately this is what it's come to for an Australian captain

Bad luck to the young bloke. He got suckered by Swan there, he will learn from that. Definitely a good batsman, has he opened before? Has the best technique from all the hopefuls I have seen

From what ive read he is an opener but has not had the chance for nsw

I don't think it's that he is still smarting from it.

The problem is that he was dropped just a few Tests after scoring two centuries under the pretence that he didn't look comfortable against the short ball, then brought back in when he was horribly out of form.

The whole thing makes no sense.

I am sorry, I don't buy the "selectors have ruined him" BS. Give me a break. Some of the greatest players of all time have been dropped at stages and come back to prove all wrong. The ball is firmly in his court, time to make do of the talent he obviously has or be remembered as a "could have been".

Well played "Captain".

Come on beads, defend your mate Clarke.

I wanted to eat some humble pie today, not likely. Look forward to his twitter update.

I can see Ponting slotting back into the side as captain for another 2 years

Clarke has the 2nd innings in this test and a stack of ODIs till SL test tour to get some confidence and get amongst some runs. He is getting to be a liability like Marcus North was

Katich or Haddin would do a great job for a couple of years as test captain if need be. But they will bring Punter back in

will be a draw

Hope not, 2-2 draw means poms wouldnt have won a test series here for 28 years by the time they tour here again

Weather looks quite overcast next couple of days. Hope we can get 250 plus and then skittle the poms for under 150

Oozi opened as a junior and has opened for NSW but generally bats at 3 or 4.

That said, NSW has Kat, Jaques, Hughes, Maddinson and Oozi who are all opening batsmen.

SHame Punter is injured for so long I reckon Pup could do with a break right now. I know Clarke is out of form so all we need to see now is how he captains the side in the field.

Luckily I never even came close to suggesting that the selectors have ruined him.
