We'll never see a Test played at the WACA again sadly.

They're doing a redevelopment at that ground which will reduce the capacity to 10K.
That's a strange redevelopment going from a ground with a capacity of almost 25k to a "boutique" ground with a capacity of 10k

The WACA Ground will be transformed into a 10,000-capacity boutique stadium, with final designs revealed for the $64 million redevelopment.

The project will transform the iconic East Perth venue into a community, sporting and tourist hub, while football will make its return to the ground.

A revitalisation of the traditional home of cricket in Western Australia has been on the cards since all international cricket and BBL moved to the new 60,000-capacity Optus Stadium in 2018. Since then, the venue has been restricted to hosting occasional state games.

As part of the facelift, the WACA’s 20,000 capacity will be halved, while the oval will be lengthened to once again allow Australian football to be played at the ground, with WAFL games set to make their return.

how is a reduction in capacity to 10,000 seats an upgrade, I guess that's all they need to watch fumbleball

Probably because CA wants all of Perth's future Tests, ODI's and T20's to be played at Optus Stadium.

I'd have spelled Starc for Sydney. Probs not for a pink ball test. Then again it's a dead rubber

Starc has been good this series but crap yesterday. He will bowl well with the pink ball but may be due for a spell as there is lots of cricket coming up. Richardson has earned another test.

Spell the goat, preferably permanently, love to see Swepson get a run.

Starc needs a rest. Save him for the prestigious Chappell/Hadlee trophy soon after Hobart test

Who cares if its a pink ball test. Cummins, Boland Green are there. Plus either Nesser or Richardson are no mugs

Swepson to get a run please !!! Missed a trick playing him at the SCG

Don’t think Lyon was that bad yesterday. Should’ve got more overs. Might as well give Swepson a go in Hobart though, see how he goes ahead of the overseas cricket we’ve got coming up.

Starc is definitely cooked should be rested for Richardson.
