70 Seasons - but who cares? The club does !!

Does anyone have any idea why the club failed to acknowledge or celebrate our 70th season in the competition? I am sure we had a logo designed for 50 and 60 - but not 70? I think it should have been acknowledged in our logo or on our jersey in some way.

I know it turned out to be a crappy season to have on your 70th - but none the less the club seemed to be totally disinterested in the whole thing. There would have been some massive merchandising opportunities which were lost. Manly had a whole range of 70 year merchandise. Quite surprising given we change our jersey at the first available opportunity in order to 'cash in'.
Not too mention it would have been a great acknowledgement of the history of our club.

The only thing special about 70 years is that it's 7 times 10. I'd say the only reason we pumped up the 60 year anniversary was because we were favourites to win the comp that year.

We celebrated 60 years in 2007 even though it was the 61st season we were in top grade.

Fair point. We were founded in November 1946 so that would mean we turn 70 next month.
