Though I agree with Warren Ryan that incessant dummy-half running can make the game predictable I don’t think that making him pass will result in anything else except one-pass hit-up’s which is even more boring and less incisuve than dummy-half running.

If we want to see more length of the field tries, which is one of the main reasons WOK would like to see the change, I think we should make any try started inside your own 20 or own 30 metre line worth 8 or even 10 points. Obviously the try needs to scored from the immediate play-the-ball not consecutive ptb’s.

I can really see League becoming an even better spectacle when teams would chance their arm to try to score one of these tries.

What do the people think.

Why. What's so "dumb" about wanting to encourage sweeping, attacking Rugby League. It's pretty "dumb" in this day and age of 1 minute attention spans to not want to make League as attractive as possible.

My initial thoughts are this isnt a bad idea.....of course there'd be a few wrinkles to iron out....I think itd make the game a bit more interesting towards the end of games ...though 8 points is overboard - 5 or 6 would be better imo.

It would actually make things worse as youd have players doing even more stupid sh*t after theyve made a break in order to get the 8 point try. The game would become more scrappy.

True Lego Man.

I personally liked the Wok's Dummy half run proposal tbh. It's becoming very f*cking boring.

I'd wack in that rule and bring the offside back to 5 metres. We're losing the craft of the clever halves in favour of big ball running 5/8's and tactical kicking halfbacks...

I'd imagine there'd actually be few attempts. Teams use hit ups to get out of their territory for a reason - it's the percentage play.

Plus we'd get the situation where tries and goals are even, yet one team has won outright, which would be a little unsettling.

generally length of the field tries are the result of 1 miss tackle, not from anything skillful, the benefit shouldnt go to the club for a fllukey try.

As unsettling as a team losing by a goal kick or two.
In extreme cases you could get a team scoring more tries and more goals and still losing.

May as well just have a panel of judges give points out of ten for each try, and add 'em up at the end.
