For the job I want (which is in the lowest pay bracket) it's 40K for the job + 10K for service allowance + 10K for seagoing allowance = 60K at the beggining of your career. Over a grand a week sounds pretty good to me.

I think most of the Navy's basic is done in Sale,Victoria. Could be wrong though.

The holocaust exhibit at the Imperial War museum in London is one of the most powerful things I have ever seen. I'd post pic's but you aren't allowed to take any.

Went to a former concentration camp near Vienna in Austria (cant remember the name). Was a very somber experience for me and seeing the pictures and gas chambers close up really hit me hard. Is just about the only time in my life I can remember being brought to tears by just being somewhere and actually hugged a complete stranger because we were that emotionally moved.
